I'd say 3 of those 4 are failures. No idea why Cole was bought. The most expensive signing there was for 2.5m, made by Deila, and the **** scored 4 goals in 19 appearances.

We've an awful record over the last 10 years or so of signing dud strikers. Instead of buying foreign duds I'd have rather seen us pay less and take a chance on homegrown players.

 

It's mad, isn't it? For every Hooper and Griffiths, there's 4 or 5 absolute ****ters.

 

Its bizarre, we've bought some absolute gems in midfield and defence but when it comes to strikers Griffiths has been the best buy for the price.

 

Celtic seem to, Griffiths and Hooper apart, sign strikers with poor goals to game ratios in the vain hope they might cut it in Scotland! Ciftci, Bangura, Colin, Cole, Pukki ... a goal every 3 or 4 games if yer lucky across their career!

Scepovic had a decent one with Gijon but was never, in my opinion, given a proper run in the team. For £2.5 million, he was wasted!

 

The ONLY player there to have a consistently good season was Scepovic at Gijon. One season out of 8 or 9 for one player, out of 5 signed.

 

I'm thinking Celtic's scouting department needs a Striking scout!

More interestingly about Balde, Pukki, Ciftci, Bangura, Scepovic etc is that none of them were really given a run of games to ever get used to our game. Last ten minutes of games or starting the odd cup game hardly count.

If Lennon/Delia didn't think these were better then what we had why spunk half your budget on them?? Seems like too much of a coincidence that we have signed ****e strikers every one of the last 10 or so transfer windows and the strikers have hardly played

 

The only plausible explanation is that the manager had no say in signing them. If the manager signed them they'd play them to try and prove they can cut it.

Scott Allan appears to be the same by the way.
