I am of the personal opinion that Wood is our best striker. People seem to judge him as a 3m striker (although its 2m with 1m add on if we get promoted) which i think is unfair on him, he doesn't decide the fee. People also seem to easily forget we spend similar money on Doukara (think it was 2.5m from memory). I don't think Wood is gonna get us promoted, we do need another striker but certainly a reasonable option in any championship squad
Jocky Boy, you beautifull looking thing you.... l could ask the same question of you towards me Jocky Boy, it was an opinion, not an attack, you still know what they are don't you? I did mention to you previously that if Wood was scoring more regularly then my opinion would be different........please try and keep up Jock. I still luv ya, ya know I do......
Hey'up LoL, With out malice LoL, the post wasn't all about Antenucci, he comes in at the 4th paragraph. Yes I like Antenucci, I personally prefer him to Wood, I've made no bones about it, but my opinion of Antenucci is just the same as others having their opinions of Wood; I can't see what the big deal is about having a different opinion, but obviously a couple on here do, and see the need to have a go. As I've previously mentioned, I'm not the only supporter to share this view. Me liking Antenucci has nothing to do with him being a Cellino signing, so was Silvestri, Berardi, Bellusci, Bamba, Cooper, Duke and Antenucci. When Berardi first started playing for us, most wanted to ship him out cos of his 2 red cards, they were saying he was rubbish, but I didn't agree with that group, I liked Berardi and thought he would turn out to be a good asset for us, now he has most, if not all fans on side, but, they had an opinion which they were entitled too and, I copped a lot of crap because I sided with Berardi, but I didn't give a damn, I stuck by my opinion, as I always do. I've copped crap because of my opinion of Bianchi too, I think him and Bridcutt would be good for us in midfield Let's not forget that all those who hated Cellino hated his signings too, childish in my opinion, but that's my opinion. Then there was those who wanted to get rid of the supposedly sick note 6 as the media named them, why, cos they were Cellino signings, and their hatred for Cellino spread to anything Cellino had something to do with, or, they blamed Cellino for everything because they had an agenda against him, they're all personal opinions, be they right or wrong; turned out there was a lot more happening in dressing than we knew about, and I mentioned it, and copped crap for it, but it all came out in wash. As far as players are concerned, it's not about where they come from or who signed them, it's about what they bring to team, and I'm of the opinion that Wood isn't what we need up front. To be realistic, Antenucci hasn't had much game time or starts since Redders came on scene, Evans uses him as a sub as Wood is his personal preference however, with Duke playing much better, and scoring more regular than Wood, Evans may, and I say may change things, even after Wood has recovered. If Antenucci was bringing nothing to team, then I'd have a similar attitude towards him. I'm an attack minded person, was as a player too, wouldn't it make sense that that is what my thoughts and opinions would be about..........
We've been down that road Chips, stop lagging. Have you got a job in the LUFC offices, or go there on work experience since Cellino arrived?
If you go back over the years Lover has always had a personal vendetta against someone at the club for little to no apparent reason and will always blame them for everything that is wrong with us rather than blame the real problem, Cellino. The first one since Cellino took over was McDermott, who he made numourous attempts of attacking his character and saying his nice guy attitude was an act and he was actually a horrible piece of work....everyone else knows different, but he bases it on nothing but guesswork Then it was Redfearn, we know he hates him for some bizarre reason, quite disturbingly. Then it was Steve Morison, despite never seeing him play and noticing the work rate he put he ridiculed him for months despite him being a big part of our turnaround. He attacked Cook and Mowatt because they were 'Redders' babies and that they didn't deserve to be in the team, despite every manager picking them and Mowatt winning player of the season. On to this season and its Wootton. Scott Wootton has been one of our most reliable defenders since he came back in to the side well over a year ago. And just because it is fashionable to hate on him he makes it out that he doesn't deserve to play even though he's never actually seen him play. Last but not least its Chris Wood. Wood started off at Leeds seemingly not putting much effort it as we all noticed. But since Evans came in he has been an important player for us and his work rate has trebled. We have missed him in recent weeks and its there for all to see. Everybody with the smallest amount of footballing knowledge can see we have missed Wood since his injury but not Lover, oh no. The common denmonator in all of this is that LeedsLover has NEVER SEEN ANY OF THEM PLAY....other than on TV, goal clip highlights, or radio commentary....your opinion is invalid. Your a gob*****....nothing more, nothing less! Oh one last thing, UFC is on at 3am again on sunday, will you be getting up to watch it, I will
I think most of us read JA so knew exactly what LL was all about prior to him posting here. His posting style is somewhat unique and he certainly brings something different to the table which fascinates me. I cant quite work out whats going on with him some of the time though to be fair!
I dont see much wrong with different posting styles. I do wonder though, given youve a whole 15 posts, most seem to centre on attacks on LL? Maybe focus on what the rest of us have to say a little more
I forgot to mention him sticking up for every single bit of dross Cellino bought as if they were world beaters. Bianchi was the next Xavi when Lover was concerned. Sloth hasn't been picked by any manager we've had but he should be starting. Stuck up for Bellusci after being accused of racism claiming if it was 'tactical racism' it would be ok "Silvestri will play for Italy at the next Euro's, I know this because I used to be a keeper and I've studied him" And an all time favourite of mine, Hockaday was the right man, he just came in at the wrong time You only have to look at his profile picture, he is a Cellino supporter....that says it all for me
Name names paddy..... They deserve recognition if what they foresee comes to pass. Just like they deserve the pelters they take every day until it all unfolds.
LL. Sorry fella but, in my opinion, you come across as the mirror image of the people you criticise for their hatred of Cellino. Your support of Cellino blinkers your views on the limitations of some of the players brought in. I was picking up on your point that you don't have favourites when you clearly do (Antanucci I used as the example, though Wood is also a Cellino signing). On the admittedly limited times I've seen him, it's fairly evident to me why a succession of managers haven't given Ant much game time. It's no big deal to me at all that you have a different opinion but if you want no one to comment why bother posting them on a forum
