Koeman and Wenger in tunnel bust-up: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsene-wenger-involved-tunnel-bust-7297928 Gunners boss Wenger confronted referee Lee Mason and accused him of missing a string of decisions during Arsenal’s frustrating stalemate. Wenger said: “It’s always the same with you.” Koeman then saw the exchange and confronted Wenger before replying: “It’s always the same with you.”
Second half they were the better team. First half was very even, we probably edged it. There's a BIG difference between expressing uncertainty and concern, and saying things are "****ing ****" and that there's nothing but defeat ahead. Otherwise we'll have to start calling you TomTom!
There were far more good performances than that. Arsenal are challenging for the title and they went for it second half. They have some world class players (and some duffers) and we made them work for every chance. Would you have been happy with a draw playing 3-5-2? Probably. I think it was pretty good with 4-3-3 also.
It's fair to say that Arsenal had a golden 20 minutes in the 2nd half where they attacked very hard, and had a huge amount of possession. But that was dealt with by the defence and goalkeeper and apart from that it was quite even. Saints suffered a little of trying to walk the ball into the net, I thought. In retrospect I'm slightly disappointed we didn't nick a goal. There you go. That's a perspective from someone who actually watched the game.
I'd say that's a fair view. I can't really compliment our defending when our goalkeeper had to keep us in the game with a string of 5-6 world class saves.
Absolutely. It is always the same with Wenger when things don't quite go as he'd like them to. He can be like a badly behaved kid at times.
Oh, come on Tom, your comment at the start of the game was utterly ridiculous and overblown. I defy you to find a single post where anyone at all did anything other than deride it as being risible. Then when people take the pee a little bit you're straight in with an attempt to claim you were right. I was merely teasing you for your desperation. The language was for comic effect and I'm sorry if you took it seriously. Don't take offence, just rejoice in a point despite Koeman's ****ing **** line-up. You really do need to start seeing shades of grey in life. Very few things are either black or white. Vin
Come on Tom, deep breath. A classy response would be to admit that a point away at Arsenal is a good one, it keeps our positive momentum and to say "well I was wrong about the defeat". It may not have been our most fluent performance of the season, but we've taken 4 points from Arsenal this season who are title challengers. Key thing today was not to lose - we didn't, and with a turn of luck, or Mane being slightly less honest, we'd have won. It was a good performance and your concerns pre-match were unfounded.
I think the point is that whatever team Ron picked it wouldn't have been ****ing ****. You would have preferred a different one, maybe with Clasie playing. He picked Romeu for a bit of beef and it he played well. Who's to say how we would have done with your team? Nobody knows!
