I met Amy Winehouse a few times through work, some friends of mine have known her for quite a few years through school and the girl I met was a quiet, sweet, good natured person. A great talent who unfortunately was led down the wrong path by hangers on.
The Norwegian massacre is a terrible event and my heart goes out to their families, also to Amy's family. Was a sad day.

I find it sad that some folks are saying Amy was junkie scum & the people in Oslo are the people we should feel sorry for. Course none of us met any of the Oslo people for all we know they could all have been complete arseholes, I doubt it but it's possible. People feel entitled to slag off/make jokes/call Amy names because she was famous, little wonder she went off the rails if the general public felt they could do that to her because she was "famous" and sang a few popular songs. Very sad.

 

Its a real, real shame, just because she took drugs people say they are not bothered, she deserved and its a waste of life etc. Like someone said, we dont know what she was going through, but we do know she had an amazing talent with a voice not many can touch and no-one can take that memory away


Ps. Dont know why he got dragged into this but Frankie Boyle is a ****ing legend, if you don't like his JOKES, don't watch him, simple. Makes me crease with laughter everytime

so because you dont find frankie boyle funny that means hes talentless, yet he always makes me laugh out loud litrally.

and secondly most people are saying its a waste of talent, which it is, she was so talented, and threw it away by getting into drugs.

 

I'm saying he isn't talented because not only is his act a tame version Jerry Sadowtiz, but that there is no substance to what he does. It's an equation and i can see right through it. I like shock humour (see Jerry Sadowitz, Kim Noble) but only when there is a point to it.

Anyone could write for Frankie Boyle.

SECONDLY i don't understand why you've criticised what i wrote because you appear to agree with me.

 

I dont think he ripped of Jerry at all, yes, both shock but a rip-off no. His timing and deliverance is very good and even tho he only has 2 DVD's, the replay value is amazing as i wet myself everytime. Its like a TV version of sickipedia, very wrong but these jokes hit certain notes with us all, good or bad.

 

Fair play. But i think he did rip Jerryoff and he has little craft, hence why he relies on his equation.

Totally agree with you there mate, Frankie Boyle just doesn't do it for me. I still laugh at some of his jokes but taking the piss out of a disabled kid is just shock humour, feeding off the natural "laugh" reactions from an audience when someone says something shocking. He's not particularly quick witted, just shocking. Jimmy Carr is like a diluted version, not particularly quick, just a little controversial.

The likes of Frank Skinner, Steve Coogan and Bob mortimer would absolutely tear strips off the likes of Boyle and Jimmy Carr.
