Just renewed Membership and bought 1 ticket for Bolton match; bit disappointed I couldn't purchase two at this time. £100
I've had a QPR membership (to get tickets before they go on sale to general public) since they introduced the scheme, and there has never been any limit on the number of tickets I can buy. A few weeks back I received the usual bumf prompting me to renew; so I coughed up my £40 and did so This morning I tried to get my usual 2 tickets (one for me, one for my son), to the Bolton game, only to learn that I am now restricted to ONE ticket. If I want to buy a ticket for anyone else they either have to be a member too (my son can only make it to about 8 games a season), or I have to buy it they go on sale to the general public, which negates the whole reason for buying the s*dding membership in the first place! QPR have made this change unilaterally and without notifying me (I have the renewal form in front of me), and I now gain no benefit from the £40 that they have lifted from my wallet. To add insult to injury, when I tried to phone to get clarification, the telephone queueing system dropped my call three times (too busy). Eventually I got in at postion 26, held for half an hour, and was then informed of the new T's & C's of my membership, with no word of apology. A very f*cking shoddy way of dealing with supporters who have supported this club through thick and thin (mainly the last).
A bit disappointed? I am bleeding incandescent!! They changed the terms of membership without informing anyone (I can't even find any small print on the renewal form). Now I can't take anyone to a match unless I wait for the scraps to go on sale to the general public. Almost a complete waste of £40.
B&F add more insult to injury for fans!!! Should I be shocked? I suppose not, but really does get my goat!!! Bumping up costs everywhere and stinging the fans at every opportunity... Glad I am making my stand against these b******s!!
Must admit, I looked at scheme to make sure I was in a position to guarantee tickets. I have a mate and brother-in-law who want to come to the Bolton game with me so it didn't make sense to take it up. I'll only be in he country for 2 games and am concerned that there'll but next to nothing left for the Bolton game, and I'll have to sit in the home section at Everton!!!! Welcome back to the prem
WTF so I either have to be Billy No Mates & now go on my own or wait & keep fingers crossed that able to get through the general public allocation. Either way as you say makes the £40 membership a joke as next to no benefit.
Fortunately, I've not renewed mine yet. As I only ever go with one or more of my sons, I won't bother. What's the point? just another kick in the teeth for the fans to add to the list!
At the risk of really pissing off Blind Faith and Rodnee even further - and i would hate to do this to some loyal QPR supporters the way the membership is being run this season is in line with other similiar schemes. I think whats changed is that now you get a £5 discount off the ticket price, hence only one ticket per member now. (England Fans is run exactly the same way). So Rodnee if your son can only make 8 games, the 8 x £5 he saves equals £40 quid which is the cost of his membership. I can see why you would think they are ****ing you over as they have changed the terms of your membership, but just to be pedantic your membership expired (and so did the terms), your renewal is not a continuation of your old membership but an invite to take out a new membership, and as with all financial transactions that involve separating you from your hard earned cash it always pays to check every ****ing thing and assume nothing. I do think they could have highlighted this change better and then you could have made your decision based on the knowledge this was the case, they are guilty of just show casing the positives and ignoring anything thats not as good, but this is selling i'm afraid. The positives as I see them are - £40 gets you, a guaranteed ticket to every home league match (if you want one), £5 off the (inflated) ticket price, a scarf, a bottle opener, a usb stick, a glass coaster, a £10 voucher for the club shop and automatic membership of OSC so you can be totally ignored for free.
Good reply Cannock, but I've just seen it mentioned there's no reduction for restricted view now. And Considering you can't see one of the goals from some gold seats in Ellerslie, that will be another moan.
Depending on how are season pans outs having an obstructed view of one of the goals might be seen as a benefit....
I am in the same position, always bought two tickets for my son and me. However my membership does not run out until September and they want me to renew now and get £2.50 per month back on the old membership. I was a member last season but still couldn't getb through to buy a ticket for the Leeds game, so even as a member is does not guarantee a ticket. Unless ST holders can no longer buy up all the tickets for the big games for their mates. The whole feel of the club at the moment from my view is why bother. My son loved watching QPR and I felt he was near to giving up on Chelsea to be a QPR fan. But I think he's better off being an arm chair fan as the cost of tickets, membership, petrol for the 265 Mile round trip is going to be well £100.00. What is the position on away tickets, as I am planning to watch the Wigan game and would prefer to be in with the QPR fans?
Was a season ticket holder for years, moved to membership a couple of seasons after moving north. I did call box office a few weeks back about renewing membership and discussed access to additional tickets. Got the answer that I needed to buy 4 individual memberships for each of my family members (we were all season ticket holders, and are still on their database), totalling £145. Pleased I asked, and am sorry for Rod-nee, but I wasnt going to have that. Was final nail in coffin, and will be supporting QPR only at away grounds. Am pretty sure away tickets will be easy to come by with TV schedules and allocations significantly higher than a few years ago when playing the likes of cheltenham, hartlepool and colchester................ and I suspect generally cheaper than at Loftus Road.
as a member of qpr for the last 5 years i have to say i understand why they have done this. If you recall the final game of last season at home to Leeds, members were allowed to buy tickets for non members, which was a big problem as far as i am concerned as i know that there were people in the ground that had not been to rangers for years, but piggy backed on people with memberships, which left some members unable to purchase tickets because the game sold out. This led to the members without tickets complaining about being a member and not being able to purchase tickets, which i can fully understand. So in the eyes of those in power at QPR, this system of having to be a member to purchase a ticket eradicates the problems that occured for the Leeds game.
