The leroy fer deal seems like a total waste of money to me. He was integral to QPRs relegation as he just doesn't have that battle mentality and would rather coast through games, only really trying when it suits him. On his day he can be great, but as soon as things get a little rough, that is when he disappears. We've replaced a lazy bastard in shelvey who can occasionally score from distance to a lazy bastard in fer who never really scores at all. He gets forward enough, but takes an absolute age to get back into position. I'm not a fan of qpr at all (mainly because of the arrogant posters on here), but watching them in the premier league, fer was definitely one of those mercenaries they signed that ended up relegating the club.
Busiest we have been in January that I can remember, new Manager, new striker, and new midfielder, with some dross going out also, I'm happy with just the two new Italian boys..............
Well......I can see the objections to Fer and fully understand them. QPR fans are delighted to see the back of him. But let's give the guy a break. He'll either prove them right or he'll be hungry and help us stay up. It's only a loan deal after all. He has ability but his attitude stinks, though hopefully we have the coach to bring out the best in him.
All I want second half of the season is to see us banging in goals for fun.......... With Go-miss on the bench resting his offside fat arse and pouting in the French press. With Sunderland nailed to the drop zone for the end of the season With us getting another top 10 finish And finally Franco getting a 3 year deal to realise his and our dream. That is my bucket list to the end of term........................................................................... please log in to view this image
My youngest son is over the moon with him coming and rates him highly, he reckons he is too good for QPR and the Championship, but I must admit I have mixed feelings, so will wait and see...........
QPR fan in peace here; regarding Fer, I love the optimism that some of you have regarding him (I shared the same feelings when he joined us). The problem I have with him is that I just don't think he is good enough to hold down one position. He is best in the attacking midfield role; but his feet just don't move quick enough to be really creative. As for him being good in the air...he is not. As you can probably tell as well, he is lazy out of possession. What I will say, is that he does have an absolute rocket on him (like you've seen) so if you've got a decent forward who can knock them down for him; you might well get the best out of him. Knowing QPR and what we tend to do to good players; you'll probably have a hell of a player on your hands.
Nino. I know what you mean because we all think Shelvey will be a different player at the Toon. It's a curious signing for us but I'm please it's just a loan. If he can't contribute we haven't lost too much but if he can chip in with the odd goal then it'll help get us out of trouble. For that reason it's good business for us I think. One thing's for sure - if he's as lazy with us as he was with you the fans won't hold back in letting him know!
There's no denying he's been poor for us this season, but he defo has quality, & he did quite well for us in the prem in a crap side, banging in a fair few goals . Reckon he might surprise a few, & be a good loan for you. If he's lazy & crap , you aren't the mugs who paid 8 mill for him ! Good luck.
Swansea is a place where players come , relax and get their game back on track . Got a feeling he may be staying past his loan but only time will tell .
Think Fer might do ok for your lot, I genuinely think he is a decent player and a nice bloke, people make assumptions about players without knowing anything about them personally and he is just one of a number of scapegoats for what is a disappointing season, probably because he is earning decent enough money but not as much as some of our fans seem to think. Whilst he isn't all over the pitch for 90 minutes to be called the laziest player people have ever seen is unfair, whether he will be up for the battle your lot are currently in, well time will tell, it will be interesting to see how he performs with some different players around him however he hasn't been his best in a team low in confidence. Best of luck for the rest of the season, there are a number of clubs who deserve the drop more than you, just a shame that Chelsea seem to be climbing the table
I can remember fer's name on the score credits very regular at some point so im happy to give him a go. Bony was rejected by a few clubs before he came to us and so was michu. I think Fer needs a club like ours to shine again and thats why he says he is over the moon and cant wait to get started....
I have to say overall I am pretty happy with the 2 signings, maybe would have liked either another LB or a wide player. I have no real basis for this but think both could well work for us.
