Strange old day Gaz. There seem to be a few short ones that look good on paper, but it does look like it might be a day of upsets. You'd know mpre about it than me mate, but do you think of Kev Ryan crossing the border with just the single runner, in the first? It would have to be a chance I suppose, but the fav is one of those "on paper" good'uns.
Again only the one for me today and even then it will only be a small one. Rough rock is in good form right now winning it's last 2 runs over CD however today it has to defy a career high mark which means it's only a small bet for me.
Todays NAP is 7.40 Windsor Polar Annie go with rest of win lucky 15 2.30 Ayr My Pearl 3.45 Yarmouth Batgirl 8.30 Uttoxeter Folie A Deux
Cyc, well done to the Evans ,the Australian cycling community must be proud.Showed guts and determination. A nice win for Lewis in Germany, but no doubt Red Bull will be back on form in Hungary. Not much going on in the racing today, as GDC says its the calm before the storm. Emburs Song won , but Fifty Proof got beat by Windward Island. Got to look into the breeding more on this Island line, they seem to be popping up with winners quite often lately.
Morning all, not much jumped off the page today. Was at Ascot on Saturday and what a horrible incident that was. Really put a dampner on the whole day. Lots of ladies and children were crying. All very depressing and unfortunately alot of people there will not be going to the races again.
The Tour was a wonderful race this year Islander, and not just because of the Evans factor, (from an Aussie point of view) but because of the Schleck boys and Cavendish. It was even a great battle for the White Jersey. Good to see Hamilton getting a win. I just can't seem to pick when Ferrari are going to really fire though. They remind me a bit of Ducatti in the Moto. Just can't seem to crack it. I can't believe that Emburs Song paid $4.70. I think I might move to Canada and get rich. Any cheap housing around Woodbine???
Cyc: Kevin Ryan and Phil Makin are in tip top form currently mate so they would have a great chance, their debutantes are going very well this season.
Cyc you gotta feel for Andy Schleck - he was awesome on Thursday in the mountains, grabbed the yellow jersey on Friday and kept tabs on Evans up Alpe d'Huez and then gets murdered in the final time trial on Saturday. Second again, poor fellow. Great tour from Evans though, showed real guts on Friday after changing his bike.
The tour is a tough person's sportOddy, gotta take ya hat off to all of them. I think the Schleck boys had their chance when Andy went away. With Europecar not wanting to chase because they had the yellow, and Frank not going because his brother had escaped, it was left to Evans to drag the peloton up the mountain on his own. It was interesting when Contador escaped and the Schleck lads wouldn't chase on their own. They both asked Evans to help out, of course he refused. Can't wait for next year, I think Evans is lucky that he caught Contador on a not so good year. Andy Schleck is the one to beat next year I think.
Duke Of Firenze in the first at Windsor is my nap, the first foal of the wonderful Nannina. Sired by Pivotal so could be fast enough to win over this trip and for me he could be a cut above this field. I can't wait to see him anyway!
Totally amazing what those guys do Cyc. I ride my bike to work 26km most days and that is pretty hard work, even though it's flat as a pancake round Berlin. I kept expecting Contador to do something explosive and for a while it looked like he might pull it out of the back on the final ascent, but it wasn't to be. TBH he never looked as fluid as last year. Next year should be awesome, can't wait for it!!
Yep, thanks Gary - sent you a reply mate (or at least I think I did - bit too many whizz-bang buttons on this site for a duffer like me )
