I agree! Did you do a Med cruise? I'm trying to convince people to do one. Would be excellent to the Greek islands, plus Malta and Cyprus! When I was in Egypt I did a Nile cruise which was great, but that's quite different.
ive done 2 western med cruises, 1 party cruise to belgium, 1 round the fjords and the latest around the iberian peninsula.
Got to agree with the OP,New York is the best place I've been to by far. Can't wait to go back again, have seen all the tourist stuff and would like to see the more social side of it.
Can't beat a bit of 'eco'tourism' I would like to visit Vegas, utterly unique place. My personal favourite from my own experience has to be SE Australia though
Would love to go to NY, been to a few places in the states, Boston, Dallas, Chicago etc. but my favourite is Miami. Don't know about you lot but when I go on holiday I like to relax for a bit. I don't mind going out and doing a bit of sight seeing but I also like to crash by the pool or on the beach. My girlfriend has been trying to convince me about going on a cruise for a while, but I always imagined it was for older folk than myself. Planning on a holiday out to the Caribbean soon, just need to figure out the exact location. Been out to St.Lucia before and have a friend living out there but wouldn't mind trying somewhere else. My brother says his favourite place was Aruba, Dutch architecture, great weather, great sights to see and very safe. Problem is it's a hell of a flight to get there from the UK and will no doubt cost a bomb.
Vegas - unreal place Got married in the Wynn las month...what a fortnight we had there! messy messy messy Got an excuse to go back every year on my anniversary now though
the wynn is some spot. 18 hole golf cousre in the back garden complete with waterfall we stayed across the road in Treasure Island. we're thinking of going back next year. bellagio is meant to be the best.
Never been to NY but agree with the City Breaks > Beach Breaks idea (though that I go from pasty to bloody in 5 minutes in the sun might have something to do with it). Amsterdam is always good for a short break, plenty of nice bars, museums, random foreigners who are happy to talk to you all evening and I'll never get tired of going to Ajax matches. Cheap hotels and flies direct from Cardiff as well . Brussels was pretty good also, especially if you're Welsh/Irish/Scottish and you pop down to the EU quarter, the bar staff there will love you because they think the English are all like the oxbridge twats they have to deal with every day.
For a weekend away it has to be Amsterdam for obvious reasons. Favourite destination has to be Egypt though as i love the history.
Turkey's nice but I'd have to say Alsace is my favourite place. Nice people, decent wine and food and great climate. Going against the grain i absolutely hated New York.
