Match was played in late March 1951 so possibly could have turned 5 in 1950 so maybe now in 71st year?

Back to the match and struggling with memory but I think Don Revie and Neil Franklin played for City too.

I'm fairly sure (maybe) that back then (when I was also five) Neil Franklin lived over from us on Bristol Road. Or maybe it was Viggo Jensen. Does that make me famous?

You don't mention we lost the 2nd leg 4-0 to go out on away goals. It's OK I understand. You don't want to feel the pain.

My first game was in January 1971 we beat sunderland 4-0 and chillo got a hat trick we were top of the league then too. Sat on the perimeter in the north east corner as I recall spent most of the match chatting to a pal I went with. I was 10 at the time and me mam and dad knew I was going but thought it was ok as I was going with a pal !! I went on my own for the rest of the season and the next season 71-2 I took my younger brother !!!! So I was 11 and he was 8 and we were allowed to go alone don't know if that would happen today I wouldn't have let my daughter go to a match at that age with an 11 year old , how times change !
Me dad used to have an old mate who had watched city since the late 20s had been to both semi finals in 1929-30 he would regale me with tales of Carter and the team of 48-49 and the massive crowds we used to get. Gave me a sense of our history and our potential which has never left . Funny thing is I used to envy him for at least seeing a 'successful' city team yet we have achieved more in he last 10 years than anything he saw in a lifetime .
I know Duffen was a bit of a charlatan but when he rang that bell when we went up and dedicated it to the generations of tiger supporters who has never lived to see use reach the top division I thought of him.

First game Easter '53 or Easter '54, aged 6 or 7. All I remember was my granddad and his mates moaning about the good old days of Carter and Revie who'd only left City a couple of years or so earlier.
Jensen was playing and so were Billy Bly & Jock Davidson, which makes it more likely '54. No idea who we were playing or what the score was, but I was certainly hooked for life. Behind the goal in the North stand. Don't even think there was a clock there in those days. I could hardly see over the fence around the pitch as I'm sure the bottom terrace(walkway) was below pitch level ! Happy days.

    Cleo's response should have been:
"Bad luck Caesar old son. They've all got it out for me!".
