Good point but what would the options in the poll be? We would need to have a thread to decide what the options should be for the thread to decide a poll to decide who is on the committee to consider setting up a discussion thread about a survey thread about whether the majority want a poll on whether we need a poll about a thread to discuss a thread about deaths.
Subtle and discreet way in avoiding the question. The real question. The question that you know is being asked. The one they asked you at your last meeting. And you didn't answer truthfully then either did you? Sure sign of an alcoholic. Time to come clean as to why you're awake in the early hours. It's because you've just been kicked out of the "lock in". Isn't it?
Apparently Trev walks round the city centre trying to look like me. I think you've been duped by him Albert - though it does put a whole new slant on The Head Line Game!!
Why? Was that you in the queue behind Chippy and No Chance last night? No I wasn't in the queue! I was the hooker.
Is there a time when it's okay to slag someone off and say what a **** they were when they die? I was thinking about this yesterday when I heard Cecil Parkinson had died and people were on the radio eulogising about him. If so, who?
My dad was in the navy when Churchill, hero of the armed forces, died. They had been drilled for weeks practising for his funeral, as he was expected to die much sooner but hung on for ages. When his death was announced over the loudspeaker the whole barracks erupted cheering cos they were so bored with the drills. I'm not sure that counts as the same thing though. On a personal level, (and much to BTK's disapproval no doubt) when it was announced that Thatcher had died, I tried to wait respectfully until the announcer had finished his sentence before cheering. I didn't succeed.
