It's easy to just use it without thinking, done it a few times. They're legal to use anywhere but a football stadium so its habit to just have a blast on it before you realise you can't use it at a football stadium.

Stupid ****ing rule not letting you use them anyway.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, at least you phrased yours in a way that wasn't condescending. If I see any of the locals on here getting a bit snarky like that I tend to mention it, I've not seen this guy comment on the football or anything anyway

A lot of pubs don't let you use them. Can't see why not, I am an ex-smoker, stopped 14 years ago, and people smoking proper cigarettes don't bother me so I can't understand anyone getting in a tizz over vaping.

I was more questioning the need for them at all, either smoke or quit, not suck on something that looks like Darth Vaders dick.

Also they're banned in many places other than football stadiums.

You have more than one mother?<laugh>

Agree with you there. I smoked for over 40 years, very heavily as well 2 sometimes 3 packets a day. Tried various things which were supposed to help, chewing gum, patches etc but then one day decided that was it and just stopped cold. Surprised how easy, after a couple of days, it was in the end. I have a feeling if vapours had been on the agenda then I would have ended up using them longer than necessary as they replace one thing you miss when you stop, something in your hand when talking or having a drink.
Can't see why they put restrictions on them in pubs or especially in open spaces like football stadiums. There are perfumes, after shaves and bodily odours which are far more offensive to the nostrils.

It's because people think someone is having a real cigarette and follow suit, it's got nothing to do with smell, they don't smell of anything.

The smoke given out by people smoking vapour cigs offending other customers was the reason they gave in a pub I was in when someone queried it.
One of my locals allow them, the other doesn't Doesn't seem to bother anybody in the one that does. Never seen one attempt to light a real one up in the one that does. Both pubs are the same as they have a gang of shivering smokers huddled outside. Makes me glad I stopped so I didn't have to kow tow to this nonsense.

The big pub chains banned them citing the 'possibility of confusion for customers and staff' due to their "remarkable likeness" to cigarettes.

Not all football stadiums have banned them, Burnley have a 'vaping zone' in the ground.

Possibly if you use it to quit, I didn't. I bought one because I hate smoking inside but am a bit of a lazy **** and couldn't be arsed to keep getting up and going outside. After awhile as I used the e-cig more and more real cigs started to taste like death. Whilst I've been using it I've dropped my nicotine levels from 1.8% to 0.6% but that was as much to do with better technology coming out (higher nicotine levels are rank on powerful vapers) as it was an attempt to lower nicotine intake.

I still have no intention of quitting yet, but I probably will eventually and it will be considerably easier. I had a real cig the other week at the pub and it was ****ing awful. Tasted worse than my missus' arsehole after a sweaty day in the sun and I only got halfway down it before I started to get that sickly feeling when you've had too much nicotine.

Sounds sensible at Burnley. Which is why it won't be done at the KC.
It took them long enough to enable people to go outside for a smoke like some other grounds did. Can't see why the smokers can't take their pint outside like they do at some other places. Don't blame the club as these things are often down to the dead hand of local authority jobsworths and the police in Hull.

Don't leave it too late. I did. Didn't quit for health reasons at the time but problems have appeared since which although I might try and pretend otherwise are down to smoking. Not only do they affect the things I can do they compound some other health problems I have and impinge on my quality of life.
Kids are annoying. They see the problems I have but still carry on. Though to be fair I never took any notice of my dad. Looking back I would have been well advised to do so in some areas.

There's not many grounds that allow you outside for a cig now, we're lucky we get that, several of the clubs that used to do it have stopped this season.

I wasn't elderly when I ignored wisdom though. Anytime we want any snippets of wisdom from an older, wiser person don't feel afraid to ask.:emoticon-0102-bigsm
However Wilde was right when he said youth was wasted on the young.

As Mark Twain said " When I was 14 I could scarcely bear to be in the same room as my father such was his ignorance and boorishness. After leaving home and returning at age 21 I was surprised to find how more wise and erudite he had become in the intervening years".

Have they? Didn't know that. Have they given any reasons for this? Or just used the health and safety cover all excuse?

Of course they could allow smoking in the grounds like some countries do as they consider football grounds an open not an enclosed space. Maybe then they might offer beer on the terraces, safe standing and encourage vocal support and large flags at games with reasonably priced tickets. Then again, maybe not. Would never work and lead to the largest average crowds in football would it?

I smoked for a long time.

The missus got pregnant and stopped.

I didn't. Stop smoking that is.

Eventually, about 5 years ago I started on the Nicotine gum, partly to stop her moaning at me all the time, and partly because I didn't actually want to give up smoking so it felt like a small act of defiance. 4.5 years later, still on the gum...

So I decided to give vaping a go, and honestly, can't see any reason why anyone would smoke actual ***s now.

I dont even get moaned at for doing it in the house, because there's no smell, and its less harmful than the ****ing Airwick things she has plugged spewing out horrible smells.

Id rather I never started smoking all those years ago, but I do like my e-cig now.
