Some Polish and Russian fans make others look like pacifists and ambassadors for multiculturism in comparison.
Yeah I've anecdotal evidence that would certainly point in that direction. Worse than the Chelsea fans too. Holland was the only time at a game though that I've genuinely been worried about making it out alive.
Very true. I wouldn't want to be associated with some of our fans just like the majority of Chelsea fans won't want to be associated with these cretins. The bombers chant aimed at QPR and the embarrassing WW2 chants in Belgium both come to mind.
A survey of the average income of season ticket holders I'll find it for you ,in one sense of course it makes no difference a thug is a thug except for years racist scumbag behaviour like this was associated ( in the media ) with chavs working class lads etc . Many of these Chelsea's scum act as they do because they think they can buy their way out of trouble.
Bombers chant?! You are joking aren't you It was barely a couple of people shouting it, and for probably less than a minute. Sometimes songs start and they are very quickly dismissed by the actual masses by either not joining in or singing something else. This was one of them Completely blown up out of all proportion
I remember that survey, it also revealed that Aston Villa had the youngest fans on average. One done when Leeds were in the PL revealed that they had the highest percentage of season ticket holders living outside the city postcode than any other club. SurprisinglyMan Utd were third, with Liverpool second.
Just like this video then. There's about 30 Chelsea fans there out of the 10's of thousands that travelled, just like it was only a handful of idiots chanting at the KC. People are judging Chelsea fans as a whole based on these idiots and judging by your post you wouldn't be happy if people did the same to you.
I bet the Russian police in this video are glad they don't have to deal with the hostile mobs in the KC singing their songs about bombers. The game carries on. Imagine that happening here.
I'd be quite interested to see that. Presumably the information was provided by voluntary participants and not every season ticket holder which would make it relative and random rather than quantitative though.
It's a survey of 35,000 fans... http://www.premierleague.com/conten...s/fan-surveys/national-fan-survey-2007-08.pdf
Works both ways. People have a hissy fit in this country when the police 'treat us like criminals' by making us travel on air conditioned coaches or ban the sale of alcohol. Imagine if they had to deal with this police force.
That's a smaller sample than I was expecting, its less than than the number of season ticket holders at Newcastle alone. Its also voluntary participation and not a selected sample so there's no way to determine if its representative at all.
I was in E5 the day of the infamous 'bombers ' chant like most people I was watching the game !!! All I heard was the QPR fans singing 'God save the queen ' which I assumed was some bonkers take on their name I didn't hear the bombers chant though there was some dickhead behind me ( who used to wear a BNP badge ) shout racist abuse at the QPR centre half. The next day reading the media you'd have thought half the east stand were chanting it. I agree not all Chelsea fans are like this there was a group of anti racist Chelsea fans set up after the notorious incident on the Paris metro. The crazy thing is these morons pour out their prejudice and racism outside of the ground yet their team like most these days is multicultural and multi racial.
Don't be ridiculous, that police force are using less force in response to that violence than they use at the KC to eject someone for smoking one of those vapour cigarettes.
