    £26 million? <laugh>

We could bring Bony back for that with 4-5 million still left over.

A lot in the Italian press the last few hours about Defrel from Sassuolo coming our way .
What gives this one legs more than others is Guidolin is behind it imo

Yes and he will be cheap and not very good, so perfect for Jenkins.

Just got back from Hols, has that clown Gomis gone yet?

Guidolin , in his last season at Parma , must have watched Defrel in his first season at Parma and must have liked what he seen .
Could be the equivalent of a Laudrup " Michu " for all we know .

I see Austin scored after 5 mins, why cant we just go for someone we know scores goals instead of nobodies.

Roof maybe, but Michu actually scored a few goals before he came here, this guy has 22 in something like 136 games, exactly what we need at a time like this.

I love your half full attitude, but give me Austin everytime over a player I have never heard of and has a goal ratio of 1 in 6 overall. It is yet another gamble (if we sign him), there must be players/strikers who are less of a risk bearing in mind we cant score goals. On another site I think soccerway it say 2 in 19 this season.

Just confirmed on official site, 12 starts and 7 sub appearances, 2 goals.

That would be pence if and I know it is a big if, his goals keep us in the league aren't we already paying the clown we have as a striker now, somewhere in the region of 70.000 so not a big increase for someone who scores goals which we are desperate for.

Why are we at this time looking at plays with poor to average scoring records. This Defrel guy may be okay as your backup along someone who scores goals. we don't need another striker who cant score, we already have 1 if not 2 of them.

Given the rewards of staying in the PL next season, the ****e we're in, the fact that he's a proven goal score in the PL, I'd have paid him double :)

Tbh, the 100,000 a week could have come from Jonjo and Gomis' wages so it's not as though we'd have been forking out more money.

Michu scored 37 goals in his first 266 games , mostly not top flight I think .
Laudrup saw something he liked , brought him to the top League in the world where he played 52 games for us and scored 20 goals . See where I'm going with this .

No as Michu was a midfield player and was signed as one, He wasn't signed to get us out of the **** as we couldn't score goals. He played in our side who at the time were creating an awful lot of chances, he also scored a lot of goals for Valocano the season before he joined us so I don't see any comparison other than I had never heard of Michu till he signed as well as this French mug we are supposedly linked to. We are not in a position to take a chance we need someone who has proven to be a goal scorer, not someone who might in 3 years time..

As much as we need a reliable striker I now feel we should only sign one this window if we can offload 1 of either Gomis or Eder.

A club like ours should only have 2 strikers, 3rd choice being a winger who could fill in (Ayew / Emnes).
We also have Curt's new system (Siggy as a false 9....creating the diamond midfield, Ayew and Routledge either side) for away games.

When we play 1 up top lately Ayew has been the preferred option anyway....
If we bring in a centre forward we will be parking both Gomis and Eder for the rest of the season.
    We can't afford that.

Sell one of them....I'd prefer Gomis out....and by all means replace.

Better still sell Gomis and loan out Eder with a chunk of his wages covered....and bring in a striker
    Good for the bank balance.
Good for Eder, who needs 1st team football.
Good for Gomis, who looks like he doesn't want to be here anyway.

If selling 1 isn't an option I'd only look to loan a striker and prepare to buy ourselves some quality this summer.

looks that way doesn't it, we have to put up with the **** we already have and neither of them are good enough to play in front of a midfield player up there out of position.
