As much as Steve is doing a great job this Season and the Allams would highly likely keep him as Manager should we go up Would you trust him with all that Transfer Money in the Premier League again?
The Allams very likely won't be making the decision of whether to keep him or how much to spend if we go up.
As for trusting him with the money, he spent 10m on Hernandez and that's now looking good business, he spent 5.25 on Huddlestone and that was good business for our first season, when we arguably needed him to perform the most, Diame for 3.5m or whatever it was was good business, Long and Jela were both good business as well. All of our higher costing transfers have turned out pretty well.
I know it's history but Bruce wanted Charlie Austin which our infamous medical team said no to. I wonder how good we'd have looked over the last 2 years or so with him up front
In Bruces defence too he has made some very good signings that weren't high profile like Maguire, Clucas, Robertson etc.
He's spent 10million on a striker who can score goals in the championship and didn't do it in the pl. Bruce would quite happily sold him in the summer. He could have bought a championship goal scorer for half that. Not sure I'd say clucas is a very good signing, steady at best imo
I think Clucas has been a brilliant signing. For £1.7m or whatever he cost? I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better left footed player. Consistently voted in top 3 MOM slots and our second top scorer. I think you're being harsh Geo.
Some signings may be paying off more now (though is Diame fully fit yet?) but they were needed last season. Despite all that I think a less defensive attitude in winnable games last season could still have seen us survive.
Depends if you include Taronga Zoo My son plays in a team here and another guy whose daughter plays a different age group is also a tiger - it's funny to see 2 hull city tops in kids training (with about 20 Messi tops) There's a few Hullensians over here to be fair
I dont think he will be our manager next season, but I dont think he has done that bad of a job with what he has been given so far.
To be fair, he's not the first foreign player to have a quite underwhelming first six months while they adjusted to life here and the Premier League - popular examples being Evra and Vidic. I agree they would have sold in summer if the right deal came in, but as someone mentioned he seems to be enjoying his footie here at the minute and he must be thinking that if we do go up and he's scored 20 league goals then he will be pretty sure of a place playing in the Premier League - it could be enough for him to want to stay. And also £10m is about the rate for a 20 goal a season striker in this league - McCormack £14m, Gray £9m, etc...
I was a fan of Brady, but personally I'd sooner have Clucas. He's just the type of all action midfielder we need.
