Fulham played like a top 6 side. We had to dig in, show resilience, restrict their threats and wear them down. We didn't dominate, play expansive football, or blow them away a la 'pathetic' Charlton, but we were professional, stuck together, and eventually got the 3 points. The midfield two hunted their 3 down, got in their faces and stopped their threat about 35 yards from goal. Diame was all over the pitch helping support the midfield and in the end they were chucking 40 yard balls up to a giant striker for knock-downs. On the basis of the job we were forced into (and I give Fulham credit for that- if they played like that every week, they would be challenging), I thought we showed the resilience and determination that just hasn't been there on numerous away days this season- good away day and a hard fought 3 points

We weren't forced into it at all. We were poor in possession and didn't win the ball back quick or well enough. It wasn't barca we were playing ffs we had 30 odd per cent possession. Hence why we were lucky to get a win. Brilliant that we did. But if we are going to play like that against other top sides in the league then its going to be a toss of a coin wheather we win.

Agree with some of the clearances but he was out most potent threat at times going forward. And put some lovely ball thru down the left wing.

Dave - for the goal saving tackle and winning the pen
    Greegsy - 2 great saves
Snoddy - showing us what we've missed now

Thought Fulham were very tidy in possession but lacking a cutting edge, good result from a reasonable performance but not great by any stretch. We're still giving the ball away too cheaply (particularly Robbo yesterday) to be considered title favourites.

Yeah, I'd figured that out! I'm rarely able to get any Citeh-related link (like the one you managed to get) to work here. Roll on next season when we'll be on telly every week. So thanks again for the report -- it's why I come on here.

Very strange! I'm being told by some crude stalker that this isn't City-related. Apparently it's about Spurs. Oh well.

    Greggs

    Snodgrass

Fulham were miles, lots of country miles, better than Charlton, who flattered us way too much. That tip over the bar was a world class save, simply superb. We can't have a dead-heat or it would have been, Dave was great, but Greggs is keeping us in it.
Abel worked hard but his penalty was fortunate, weak as piss.

Really enjoyable away day. Obudajo did what any decent winger or full back will do and get into the box, anything can happen then once their defenders panic. That's how palace get so many penalties, Zaha and bolassie make sure they get inside the area every time.

Scott Parker bossed the midfield in the first half for them, thankfully he isn't up to 90 minutes these days. We looked much more threatening in the second half. I'm beginning to think Bruce knows he's doing after all...his comments about how Fulham look a really good side and are down near the bottom and how that sums up the championship are true...its about results in this league so I'm not too concerned that we didn't dominate Fulham. Top of the league, we musr be doing something right! Look how Derby and Boro - who some on here were looking enviously at a few months ago for their supposedly superior attacking football - have come unstuck recently. A stingy defence and the odd bit of poaching from Hernandez will see us right in this league. Bruce is a wily old sage. Oh and our bench at the moment must be by far the strongest in the championship.

There's a lot of poor teams in this division, and I don't remember reading of people here being afraid of Derby or Middlesborough. Of course Bruce will say Fulham are great, but they weren't even playing their main striker. And when their fans saw their team selection they thought they would be hammered, they didn't consider it to be very threatening.

Many many posters on here said Derby, Boro, QPR, Reading had better teams and had recruited better than us. Beginning of the season like. No faith you see.
