Makes no odds, we're not playing with the big boys any more and if they were to come, we'd pull a big crowd again, in the same way that we took twice as many to the Man City cup game as we did to the league game the previous season. It's a rather pointless discussion, if they do come, they'll get a 2,500 allocation, absolutely guaranteed.
Someone yesterday tweeted that whilst Hull City had sold 1300+ tickets Bury had only sold 400 for the game. Interesting, IF true of course. ?
Because it happened to us when Fish saw the pound notes and evicted City fans from their own stand, I know Bury fans aren't us but a lot of their fans are pissed off, Man City have to allow 25% to away fans in the cup, just in case, but they don't sell season tickets for those seats, I suspect most big clubs are the same. We might take 50% of Gigg Lane thus chucking out their own fans. If you don't care about that, then that makes you uncaring about fellow football fans and very selfish.
What? Thats utter bollocks. They might have to move seats but noone is being kicked out ffs stop being such a drama queen. It's not like they'll be rammed in with loads of their fellow fans either, in fact going on their gates, you can take a picnic, put yer feet up and still not bother anyone else. A lot of their fans are pissed off? Is that why they don't go every home game then?
You don't have to give 25% allocations in cup games any more, Man City gave us a 5,000 allocation because they knew they wouldn't sell out (5,000 was nowhere near 25% anyway). I can obviously understand why Bury season ticket holders are pissed off about being moved, but they haven't had crowds over 5,000 since the 90's and as a club, they simply can't afford to turn down a big payday.
I find it ironic that a lot of the arguments to justify Bury's decision are the same that Fish and the police made to justify chucking us out of the South Stand v Bradford, albeit there being more of a precedence set in Bury's case
Yeah everyone who tells you to sit down! You can sling that back at them! I've only had it once this season @ mk! I stood all game just out of spite! My back was killing
Our game v Bradford was a league game - that's a big difference to the Bury situation. Season ticket holders sat near the away area should know there's a chance they'll have to move for cup games.
Another difference with Bradford is its a bit of a local derby. There's no such thing with Bury and us.
At least the bury fans moved will be in with their own I remember well back in the 70s when on a number of occasions away fans outnumbering us at BP in unsegregated areas Man U 1974 and Sunderland in 1976 stand out in the latter Sunderland fans must have made up nearly 2/3rds of the crowd as it was their last match before promotion and there was thousands of the makem bastards there !! And in those days having to share a stand with away fans could get pretty tasty
Bollocks to the other thread where people commit the cardinal sin of actually discussing promotion I'm looking forward to an old school day out at Bury
