    FT 2-1.

Never really looked like losing the lead. Good stuff but work still needs to be done.

I read may times before the match Watford would fall to the Newcastlee United team as Watford were sliding, had lost their way or the other teams were now wise to them and Newcastle were coming good and were resurgent (that is a good word). Even Mark Lawrenson could not brek his habit and put us for a defeat of 0:2.

One little message, do not write us down!

    • Nice comment on the Newcastle board.
Three losses to Watford this year, good job we didn't play them in the league cup.

A loss would have really turned up the heat, I dind´t even want to contemplate it before the game, which I missed unfortunately.

3 points to ease the tiredness and hangover!

BBC says Odion Ighalo beat the offside trap.
Dail Mail says Odoin Ighalo scored a controversial offside goal.

    One of them is wrong.

Didn't seem to be too much wrong with it!

Improved performance and a win which could have been more convincing.

Ighalo and Deeney back to their dangerous best and Capoue was excellent along with the rest of the midfield with Jurado looked more lively.

Also pretty solid at the back and Gomes made one or two excellent saves but certainly wasn't called upon as much as in the cup game.

Much, much better from everyone. We wobbled briefly after Newcastle scored, but only briefly. I thought Britos was immense and thought Paredes had a pretty good game. Jurado too was ok without being spectacular. I expect a rest for Deeney next week. Great result, really needed that one.

Thank you - maybe you gave us the kick up the bum we needed!

Much better today - far more energy, second half a lot more willingness to shoot and well organised again. Have to say I thought Berami had a really good game.

    Anyway, Watford are back!

Did anyone have a poor game? I spotted mistakes from most of them, and we gave Newcastle too many chances to cross the ball, but by and large I thought they all put in a good display. Looks like a good mid-table team display to me.

There was a Harry Potter chant going round the Rookery lol

A great all round performance and good to see Jurado and Paredes shutting the naysayers up. Jurado was exceptional at times. Glad he was in his right position and could prove what a good player he is.

Not sure Amrabat even touched the ball in his 2 minute debut but good to see him on the pitch!

Ighalo was back and even passed a through ball to deeney once, that was exciting lol.

Poor Capoue, so desperate to score, he really should have crossed the ball for the third goal but can't blame him for trying!

Behrami was much better today but was yellow carded for diving, not convinced that was justified, would like to see it again.

All in all a great win, with the occasional worrying moment. But good to see we've broken the run!
