While you may be content with 14th, 6th place is unacceptable for a club like ours. A robust challenge for the PL title and CL football each season is the minimum we fans can accept.
Let's be honest though, the PL needs a very strong Utd as it drives everyone to improve to beat them. I bet Moyes is laughing his tits off though
Fair point - our decline has pretty much marked the end of English clubs having any pretence of challenging in Europe. But surely the rest of the PL should be able to move beyond an obsession on Utd and just improve for the sake of being good?

It doesn't necessarily need United to be good, just somebody to be good, anybody, to set the standard. In the 70's and 80's it was Liverpool and Everton, in the 90's it was United and Arsenal, in the 00's it was United and Chelsea. Last 5 years have been lacklustre. Don't think any team has retained a league title in 7 years, since United in 09.
The obsession on United will remain as it is by far the biggest and most successful club in the country especially from the deluded RS. Note the appearance of the Turd after a United defeat. The decline by United is clear and expected (at least by some of us). Let's just hope it will not last long.
Being fair though, it works both ways. I'm sure some of you will appear on our board if we lose tomorrow. No obsession here, just a wind up.
It shouldn't need Utd to be good, but we've been pretty much the only ones to set a consistent standard in the last decade (arguably the last 25 years). I've said it before - no other club since Liverpool in the 80s has managed to have a successful season and follow it up with a similarly successful one. That's what you need to challenge for the top prizes with any sort of consistency, and for whatever reason other clubs don't seem to have it.

That stat with the half time scores is shocking though, you guys might aswell only turn up for the second half.
That is aimed at the mousers not you. They have taken good players from you and turned them into ****, at least the two we have taken are still playing well.
