If it's in the Mirror it's probably that Nursey fella putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 again, I can't see anything in this rumour especially at £10M. Then again what do I know ? I've called it wrong so far this transfer window however I still believe our net spend will be circa £2.5M maximum which, if our squad sees major improvement, I have to admit is good business
Wouldn't want Bamford personally. I think spending £10m on him would equate to throwing money around for the sake of throwing money around. He wouldn't significantly improve us and probably wouldn't make the Starting XI. Plus would Chelsea consider selling to a relegation rival?
Well that is what i was thinking. I would say no... however, with Naismith in behind him and him running off the shoulder of defenders, he might fit in? £10m is a bit steep though... would rather have spent that on Afobe!!!! Would also rather spend £10m on another CB or a quality CM/RM
Quotes from Colney just now: Chris Goreham @CGoreham 4m4 minutes ago Alex Neil hopeful of completing "another couple of bits of business" before the end of transfer window. #NCFC Norwich City FC @NorwichCityFC 3m3 minutes ago Alex Neil on a prospective move for Gary Hooper: "Negotiations are ongoing and we're not far away." #ncfc Paddy Davitt @paddyjdavitt 3m3 minutes ago #ncfc AN on Haller interest: 'it looks unlikely now. I am surprised u would want 2 play in the europa league on a thurs rather than the PL.'
Thanks for the goals - and the memories, Lardy http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...wednesday-complete-deal-for-hooper-1-7690351?
This week's #3upfront on Mustard TV. Lots to discuss, of course, this week. http://www.mustardtv.co.uk/episode/three-up-front-74/
Talented = yes. Would he fit our style = no. Wouldn't give us anything Hooper doesn't apart from a bit more mobility perhaps. Would rather have Gayle or Andre Gray.
Metro are linking us to Reading's Chris Gunter for £0.5m. Presumably when they made that one up they didn't think to check how many RB options we already have at the club. Sky Sports confirm Hooper to Wednesday on a 3-year deal, apparently for £3m.
So, with the Grabban circa £7m and whatever E Benno realised, plus the £6m ish still in the kitty from Johnson's sale to Derby in the summer, the money coming in to the club has virtually covered the outlay for Klose and Naismith. So, what we've effectively spent are the fees on bringing Jarvis, Pinto and Godfrey in which is around £6m? Or is my maths flawed?
I liked Hooper as a player but agree he just doesn't fit our system - I thin he will do well for SWFC though. The reason he probably comes back at pre-season a little bit over weight might be due to all the drinking in Vegas over the summer months!
We keep finding decent strikers who "don't match our style" when do we look at the style as he issue. I'm not having a go at AN more questioning why we seem to go through this again and again.
Your maths are totally flawed Cromer. If you include the Johnson sale then you must include the Brady purchase. You cannot be selective and include only one side of one window. All of both windows or only the action in this window.

Johnson was signed by Derby on deadline day Sept 1st 2015. Robbie Brady arrived on 29/7/2015. So the money for Brady's arrival had already been earmarked and probably changed hands long before Bradders fledged the nest - and by doing so on deadline day, there was no time to spend a dime of that fee. I don't just make things up / shoot from the hip around here, you know... Edit - feel free to double check my dates and then correct me if I'm mistaken
Anyone else got the horrible feeling that Hooper is going to bang in another dozen goals this season, get promoted and then continue scoring in the Premier League next season? Can't help feeling we have not made the most of him.
