Seems that Levy has successfully p'd everyone off, including his own player and manager, with his ever-so-ironic greed. The stupid chancer now looks like he's written off around £6m by keeping Townsend, who simply doesn't play, for another 4 months. Anyway, point of thread is we've apparently never been as keen as the media claimed (claim the media), and are looking to secure Sandro Ramirez on an £8m deal from Barcelona. Full article is in the Guardian; http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jan/21/newcastle-andros-townsend-tottenham-sandro-ramirez Seems like we might be attempting to kill a Townsend AND Berahino with one stone, although Ramirez seems to be a Perez clone.
Good Player, but I read that Barca want the release clause met and they want a clause in the contract that allows them to purchase him back should he be a success. Nonetheless, its seems like a good choice, I'd rather go elsewhere then give in to Levy and pay 14M for a winger who has less than 8 goals and 8 assists in his entire 1st team career
Activating a release clause puts paid to any agreement Barca want to negotiate into a contract surely. **** them, they think they have their own transfer rules. I hope Messi gets put behind bars and Neymar wants to leave, and Suarez gets his teeth smashed out of his face.
I was just about to post this. How can they insist on a clause if you are activating a clause? Unless they are selling him below his clause value then I don't see how they can have any say. Unless I am missing something really obvious (wouldn't be the first time). I don't know a whole lot about him but I have seen him a couple of times (Ajax once I think in CL). Looked good technically as they all do who come out of their system. Are they clearing room for Pedro's return?
Spurs are after him, that's telling you all you need to know. Evidently your MD is saying "We'll **** your **** up if you try and mug us off". Unless Barca have a clause that says '£9m release clause lets you borrow our player until we want him back for peanuts'... then it's bollocks. They think they own football, I detest that club.
You say about players being put behind bars and Javier Mascarnho? is currently trying to pay his way to stay out of prison!
Should have known, they're all up to it. Neymar's doing the right thing, he looks like he wants to do a runner before the feds catch up with him... stay on the run, keep moving clubs. Barca make me sick with their holier than thou 'Unicef' sponsor, 'the fans own us' ****e, they're corrupt as hell. Their house of cards will fall one day.
"Newcastle United target Andros Townsend has probably played his last game for Tottenham, according to Spurs’ boss Mauricio Pochettino."
Maybe there was a clause in the release clause that activated the clause of a buy-back. You know, a clause stating that if the release clause was met, it's on the understanding that the buy-back clause comes into play?

I'd offer them £8m for him, that's £1m for each goal he's scored in his career. Levy is a greedy bastard. I hope he gets stuck with him.
This is unbelievable - I cant get my head around the fact that anyone would pay that pig ugly hacker anything for his image rights. I think he has been framed.
