Yeah and this pre season so far has been a re run of the year we got relegated, apart from the below strength midfield, there was only Simpson missing. Club not spending any money again 2.

One could argue it was spending TOO MUCH money on players like Owen and co. that led to the relegation.

And "apart from the below strength midfield"? I'd say midfield strength usually has a lot to do with a team's performance

Yeah, and just like that season pre-season means absolutely nothing. Whether we get relegated or not is unknown, but it's not related at all to how we do in these matches. Stop bitching and support your club for Christ's sake. This is Newcastle, so there'll probably be enough catastrophies during the real season for you to get upset about. Save some tears for then.

Yeah they could and we did, but the fact we got 35 million for Carroll and don't seem to have a penny to spend it stupid, yes the midfield is impressive but if we got no one to score goals and are struggling for defenders (Is it 5 defenders + Perch?), then it won't matter. Hope I'm wrong.

I wasn't referring to the 'midfield strength' and performance for the season, but meaning that the midfielders missing from the side playing in Orlando last night make a big difference

CBs we have Colo Willo Saylor and Kadar as a back up
RB we have Simmo Raylor and maybe Tav. He was impressive last night and I would like to see him cameo against Columbus or maybe even Leeds.
I agree we should get one more defender, probably for LB cover with Jose our main man and only really Fergie as back up (tho Tav proved he could play here too)

Dont forget we have the magnificent Perch!

Our Mid is strong I feel. In normal conditions where we dont have to sub ppl off for heat exhaustion, we have alot of options.

And I think everyone agrees we would like one more striker. Maybe if this Erding deal finally comes through...

I really think we cant begin to judge the squad until we see the Leeds/Fiorentina games and even then Pards will be experimenting with different formations etc
