Simply because we replaced him with the new Tommy Miller, Catts was mank before he went off as he had been at Swansea, the boy is a liability due to his panto villain reputation, unfair yes, but siezed upon by our rivals, pundits and officials, yet he is still our best option in that position which says it all really.

I think we watched different games! The one I watched Saturday lunchtime, Catts broke up attack after attack through the middle.

His screw-up on the line was, shall we say, unfortunate <doh>. With a little more composure he could have cleared it. The ball was spinning and we were under the cosh. **** happens!

Other than that, he worked his arse off!

Spot on but trouble is DG is a (non goal scoring) forward <doh> - lol
We need premiership experienced signings - not taking chances with inexperienced Euro players - too risky hit ground runnin- very dodgy imo

On the news, Lens is probably going to Roma.
There's one of the 'ball players' we will likely lose.
    Also AJ's future looks dodgy.
    This leaves ? 'Ball players'.
I bet we will sell Pickford if we get a reasonable offer next season, we do that with any decent player we get. We have form for it.
Yet, the mags are spending 100 million (bbc gossip page) this window, compared to our 0.75 million.

You have to wonder if this is Ellis Short showing his hand. If ever there was a time to invest this is it. I'm surprised by how much Newcastle have done already - doesn't mean they're good signings though. This Saivet, not seen anything in his previous club to make me chuffed we signed him.

No argument about Rev, class full back who didn't need to be a speed merchant with his positional sense.

He added a calmness to the defence which is hard/ impossible to teach. Compare how the defence looked then to how it looked with Vergini (who seemed technically decent but varied regarding his composure from what i saw) or Jones.

Letting Rev go was a massive mistake IMO. Said it when we decided not to renew his contract.

    He was dependable and experienced.

Santi I agree was patchy but had potential, we let him go before we had any replacements, he was cover in the very positions we are now so vulnerable in, it would have made sense to have kept him until we had better, I dont think we have done this tbh.

Under the cosh, we had just taken the lead if I remember, we will never agreee about Catts he is a very poor footballer and lacks composure imo. :emoticon-0148-yes:

He went off second half mate.

Agree about Catts though. He's like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. <ok> :emoticon-0152-heart/ :emoticon-0183-swear

    Oh Terry will love this.

While i admit i like catts, it does say a lot that after all these years only stoke have had a sniff.

I dont hate him mate, and think like JoS he is vital to our survival, but I still do not rate either of them as footballers its just my opinion.
