Play the kids and go out please. Nuff said. A fixture we could do without especially considering it's Brum away next who just smashed Derby 3 zip today. Awkward week not helped by a 1-1 home draw with in form Preston.
A cup run would be nice, but only without sacrificing the fitness of most of our 1st team players. Not sure what Mick would do for the Bournemouth game should we get past Pompey.
Very tough call as we are def in the business third of this very tight season. Drop more weak points now and we see ourselves tumbling to 8th....10th and in to nowhere land. I am not yet convinced by our plan B, Varney et al. After Brum, things seem a shade easier.
Have to say likewise the subs from the Preston game didn't " inspire " me into the fact we were going to push on. If Oar didn't at least come on last time, I have to assume him + Niles will get the chance vs Pompey along with Pitman / hopefully Tabb / Coke / maybe McDonnell. Hoping especially in Oar's case he's just a little down on fitness and after Pompey / perhaps unused vs Brum then I do hope he gets a good opportunity with us.
1-1 draw at full time, 2-2 after extra time and us to go out on penalties. Oar is obviously for next season when we don't have Fraser anymore.
You should not be getting a second chance! . Pompey will win dont matter what team you put out, in front of the blue army, you have no chance...............PUP
Well apparently we're unbeaten in our last 15 trips to Fratton Park, so let's see. Doubt you'll be getting an easy time of it tonight.
We've been underestimated by bigger clubs than Portsmouth over the past couple of years. It doesn't tend to end well for the opposition. Having said that, I'm not overly fussed by this result. I just hope our second-string squad show up and we play good football. If anything, the match will hopefully provide the likes of Bart, Hyam, and Oar an opportunity to stake a claim for regular first team football.
Just hope our second string(if it's to be them)play to some sort of plan or system. In the initial game they looked like a bunch of strangers who'd rarely even been on a training pitch together and had spells where they were comprehensively outplayed.Overall though I'm with Nuggets,we've bigger fish to fry!
Just please avoid that early bleedin goal syndrome! If we can settle for half an hour, and then have a go, who knows. I still think Pompey will end up winners. Good runaround for our youth. Freezing down here on South Coast!
Well that's one hell of a lineup from us! I've actually backed Pompey to win upon seeing that, we're not bothered about the cup one jot. That said, very good chance for some. People screaming about Kenlock and Emmanuel being good enough, tonight will show what they're like.
Well this match is going swimmingly. I don't want to sound presumptuous, but we're two goals down, fielding a very weak starting eleven, and it's almost half-time ... on to the next one?
Yeah I think so Nuggets - got it on the radio while watching Bristol City - sounds like Emmanuel has been our only good player if they can be relied upon. It was a very young side - credit to Mick for mixing it up - Oar / Niles have had the chance to prove they should be included, Bart gets two games. No complaints re this, it's Bournemouth R4 not Liverpool away etc. I hope some youngsters make a debut second half.
I think it's good that Mick is giving our squad players a run-out. We clearly don't rate the cup competitions as important, and as we're in the midst of a play-off campaign, I don't blame him for resting most of the regulars. However, it is a little disconcerting to hear we're not playing well. The likes of Bart, Miles, Oar, Hyam, and Pitman should be performing well against League Two opposition, despite the fact we're up against an in-form Portsmouth side. I know the stats aren't the be-all, end-all of football, but 39% possession and two shots versus their eight makes for embarrassing reading. Still, a win against an impressive Birmingham side will more than make up for this likely defeat.
Exactly, not really bothered by the cup (bit sad I know). We have bigger things to play for this year, can't afford our best players getting injured in a rd3 game only to go out the next one. Pompey to their credit sound a half decent side, playing the right way. Give the young uns a go, what will be will be.
Personally i think its a disgrace but there you go. It was never a problem for players to manage a cup run a few years ago, all of a sudden these modern primadonnas cant cope, look at Messi and Ronaldo, they play in every game they can, no matter who its against!! Yeah make a few changes but not the whole ****ing 11. Sorry i love the FA cup and am disgusted with how MM treats this competition, its not as if we will go up......
AMN sounds disinterested again, i would send him back! Tabb, whats the fecking point? Digby sounds dogdoo? Plenty of positives there then
