They are okay. Not a patch on anything HBO or Showtime put out, but at the moment, until Walking Dead comes back in February and then Game Of Thrones in April, I only have Shameless to watch, so I fill my midweek with mediocre but watchable Super Hero shows like Arrow and The Flash, they aren't bad.
There's some classic one-off stories worth watching. Don't bother with the Doggett stuff in the last couple series though.
This is spot on The only problem imo with the prequels was Anakin was badly miscast and the overuse of CGI. If they had filmed it like the originals and had a better actor for Anakin, there was a very good plot with enough depth to make them very good, especially Episode 3 which was a great story. Agree that The Force Awakens is good as mindless bubble-gum popcorn entertainment, but plotwise it's lacking.
I saw a very good document on this. Basically lucas first viewing of the thing and he knew it was a disaster and everyone said total mare but as they looked they'd have to strip the entire movie and had no time to do it. So they got drunk and convinced themselves it wasn't that bad. Then did two more worse... and cast christensen as well
Watching Flesh and Bone (Amazon). Don't think I've watched anything as claustrophobic and tense. Not the greatest thing I've ever watched but found myself angry...and holding breath hoping the worst wasn't going to happen but doomed in the knowledge it will... Probably not for the already depressed....
