That's part of the problem. They were mostly poor. He gives the ball way and he lacks any kind of penetration. I don't get it and don't get why he stayed on for the full 90 minutes. I just don't get it. Is it a perceived lack of alternatives?
I think so....... tactically one dimensional... and dare i see we unloaded players who might add something coming on..
I don't think he's ever had so many opportunities. Hit some better than others but didn't really trouble the goal. Always cuts inside then tries a one-two. Sometimes think we just need to be a bit more direct and a bit less tippy-tappy.
I think there is a tendency to scapegoat a player when we dont play well.... looking at some of the comments on FB you would think he was the cause of our last 4 defeats.... which of course he wasn't.... I actually thought it was better as he was getting a few shots in... No excuse for our defeat.....
The team were bad tonight. Jurado is getting the stick and it's not justified. He's played out of position. Cathcart is played in his correct position and yet gives the ball away constantly. Capoue was awful tonight and couldn't make a pass, ighalo was greedy and couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, deeney was in the wrong position, Watson had a mare etc etc... Yer jurado is always blamed when it all goes wrong. I don't get the negativity about him when all the others get a by..
I get your point H, but these players have all delivered this season. Jurado hasn't. So it's not so much blaming him for things going wrong. Very early on this evening there was a comment saying it was like playing with ten men. Yes, it was a poor team performance, but I still don't get what Jurado brings to the party...played in position or not.
He puts his foot in, has flair which he can use to great effect. Yes he loses the ball but that's as much a communication issue as anything else imo. He is quick and has good movement... I believe he will come good.
Just don't rate him .. lightweight , loses the ball frequently , he has no real pace , cant tackle and his shots tonight were either weak or off target . I really want him to prove me wrong and would love to see him score , but think we could have someone with more pace , power and fire in his belly. I would be happy to see him dropped . I like Flores and suppose I should really trust his experience and knowledge .. but I'm beginning to wonder if he has a stubborn streak to his personality which is clouding his judgement re Jurado . The head coach also looked frustrated/ worried on the box tonight ..for the first time this season he and the players are under a bit of pressure .
Can't recall a player dividing opinion so much. Saying he was our best player last night is damning with faint praise. Not worth his place IMO.
Some terrible honesty from me .....when he went down in some discomfort I hoped he had a minor injury so that he would be replaced . My heart sinks every time I see his name on the team sheet , that is how much I don't rate him . Of course , I would be absolutely delighted if he develops into the best player to ever wear a Watford shirt ....
I have been saying for a few weeks that Jurado is a bit of a one trick pony. He always turns inside onto his right foot and effectively takes Ake out of the game and he runs straight into a packed centre of the pitch. But to be fair, he had a good 2nd half last night and his shooting improved - there were others that were far worse last night and I just do not understand Deeney playing that deep - surely that is not Plan A? I would like to see Jurado play on the RHS and see him go outside of the defender to make some width and open up the defence to create some space.
I would like to see Jurado play for the RHS ..Royal Horticultural Society ...( and not us ) . Had a better player been in his positions when he shot last night , we might have won the game !
I think tactically we have lost the plot.... playing TD so deep meant that balls were lobbed upfield and only one or two got to Ighalo in the 1st half. We have little choice on the bench also..... Change is needed as we are increasingly being neutralised...
I have never placed a bet in my life , but on the strength of the last 3 games , ( cup game , Southampton / last night ) and the improved form / purchases of those teams below us , I'm getting a feeling we could be relegated ..are the odds good ? a bit of dosh in the pocket would soften the blow if we fall through the trap door .
