We know he'll move eventually, but there's a rumour of Napoli tabling 20 mil for him.

At any other time we'd have to take that, but at the moment would it not be a big blow to what we're trying to achieve?

Would it not disrupt and undermine the way we're trying to set the team up at the moment?

If we got Townsend and he remained fit we probably wouldn't miss him that much in terms of premier league survival. If we are trying to build a solid squad with options then we need to keep him for now.

Is snap their ****ing hands off. He dilly dallies about way too much for me in and around the penalty area at vital moments. He could've had one and created at least another one yesterday. He's done it the whole time he's been at the toon so I can't see it changing any time soon. Not to mention the fact that we're in transfer window territory so he always steps his game up....he'll be **** again till the end of the season if he's still here after Jan!

I love Sissoko when he can be arsed. Fantastic player, only most of the time he has no influence on the game. 1 in 4 at most.

    £20m I'd say good deal.

I'm never that fussed about fees for players in, or out. It aint my cash.................... but if its another 20 mill, guaranteed to go 'in the pot' for further transfers, then id say it was decent business. He may have had a few good games, but we all know it will drop off. He is a world beater on his day, but his days are too few and far between for me. Time for fresh blood and fresh ideas in the squad. Sell, sell, sell.

And I have to say, 20 mill for Sissoko and a reported 8 mill for Tiote tells me somebody knows what they are doing. Fair play.

Goals and assists aren't everything mind, as we seen with Shevley yesterday. He started off both moves but doesn't get an assist for them. I honestly think that the games we've won this season have coincided with Sissoko being in the mood. He breaks and pace and allows Gini to make those runs in.

I think he's been decent this season, but I know why people think he's a lazy bastard at times.

No way would an italian club pay 20 mio pounds for sissoko. 20 mio euro? Maybe but unlikely. Snap their hands off if it's 20 mio pounds. 20 mio euros...ask for 5 more.

That's a fair point. If someone told you we'd sold two players for 28 mil and Wijnaldum wasn't one of them, you'd be baffled.

Well if he goes for 20 million that's grand so long as we replace him with someone of quality with the cash.
We cannot keep repeating the mistake of taking good money for players who do influence how well the team performs, even if not consistently, and then not replacing them adequately.
We need to take two steps forwRd and stay two steps forwRd, not keep taking three back.

Napoli must be reading my valuation posts. <laugh>

    £20m is fair so.. Deal.

Dear Napoli, we have a world class CB called Mike Williamson you may want to look at. £20m and he's yours.

Thinking that's 20 million euros not pounds.
Would Napoli really have 20 million quid to throw about?

Your right. No Italian club is going to drop 20m plus wages in him. But unless we have a replacement I don't think we can afford to let him go either. He did my head in properly last season but I think he has been fairly decent for us this year.

Napoli, top of the league and looking to cement a CL place. They obviously see Sissoko as the last piece of their jigsaw. He may be playing better this season and may continue to with our new set up but 20m too much to turn down

20m? <laugh> You'd have to take it. As long as its re-invested which on recent evidence it probably would be. End of the season would be better as I think we need to keep our team together for now bar the obvious like Gouf etc. If he wants out and won't settle for the end of the season then obviously get rid.

I dont see any point in selling him right now, better offer him a new contract. If Sissoko was ever inclined to stay its probably now.

I'd like to keep him. I know he can be a lazy **** when the chips are down, but when they're up he can be fantastic. If we can just get a run going, then with continued investment and improvement, we could see a lot more of the god Sissoko and a lot less of the bad one.The good Sissoko is one of our best assets - when he's around.

Rumour mill suggests that Sissoko will go and that we're replacing him with Andros Townsend from Tottenham.

    Not pleased if true.
