And he hates Austin. He said Austin had no knee ligaments left in the past. He has a weird thing against him
On another note Alex Crook is taking a hammering on twitter. lol I believe @alex_crook nickname at #saintsfc is 'mushroom', they keep him in the dark and feed him ****. @alex_crook you are literally always wrong @alex_crook literally no saints fans have any respect for you... @alex_crook idiot again
http://news.bwin.com/en/football-be...clears-his-path-to-a-top-four-club,96336.html Article suggesting that Austin may be using us as a stepping stone to a top 4 club. Can't a player even step on our pitch before he's sold If this is Austin's plan, he's an idiot...why wouldn't he just wait until he was on a free? None of us know what happens in the future...but really?
I know it's annoying, but I've kinda resigned myself to the fact that any new signing will probably treat us asa stepping stone if given the chance. In fairness to Charlie, if Man Utd came in for him, why would he feel any compulsion to stay at Saints? If this is the case though, I expect him to treat us with respect; his departure from QPR was highly dignified.
Buzzing? Les only signed him because he couldn't trust you to come back wih Lionel... How was the trip?
According to David Gold, Austin isn't a bargain as his wage demands are £100k p/w Tbh if I was Austin I'd want that to play for West Ham, considering they pay Andy Carroll £90k p/w
You should listen to his interview...he said the move was a big decision for him because it's where he and his family will be for the next four or five years.
But that doesn't alter the world view of SFC which is that we will sell anyone. The article says: Southampton’s £4m acquisition of Charlie Austin is one that has been universally regarded as a monster coup for the south coast club. With his contract set to run out in the summer, former employers QPR have opted to cash their chips in order to ensure their most marketable asset doesn’t leave for nothing. The transfer comes but a few weeks after Austin voiced his desire to remain with the Championship club until the season’s end, when he would become a free agent, aspiring to make himself as an attractive a proposition as possible to potential suitors. While his move to Southampton appears a direct contradiction of this standpoint on the surface, he couldn’t have picked a better club with which to realise his ‘big club’ aspirations. After scoring 18 in 35 Premier League appearances last time around, Austin was widely expected to leave QPR in the summer following their relegation. But the sky-high asking price the R’s demanded, believed to be in the £15m ballpark, deterred would-be buyers. With the west Londoners’ promotion hopes now all but extinguished, they’ve opted to take a significantly reduced sum for the striker and Southampton were quick to capitalise. It’s a situation that’s beneficial to Austin too, even if he has committed himself to the Saints for four-and-a-half years. Elite Premier League outfits seem to like nothing better than a player who performs at St Mary’s and, despite the length of the 26-year-old’s contract, he could still be on the move to a bigger fish in the short term. Dejan Lovren stayed at the club for just one, largely successful, season before being sold to Liverpool, who also took Adam Lallana for an exorbitant sum in the same transfer window following his best Southampton campaign. Links to Sadio Mane and other teams, namely Manchester United, proliferated after a solitary season as a Saint, with Victor Wanyama also the subject of interest from those competing at the top-tier’s top end following a short stay at St Mary’s. If Austin does the business in the Premier League again, it won’t be long before those same calibre sides come calling.
Some weird crap is happening with my computer at the moment.........Nearly double posted this reply before I even typed it..........
