Perhaps that was slightly unfair, but he certainly came on, and had time to make a difference in games, which he failed to do. I certainly don´t miss him, he´s the same as the strikers we have at the Club at the moment - just not quite good enough to be able to score PL goals on a regular basis, which is why we need good goal-scoring midfielders to back them up.
I have always thought Hooper is a really good striker but in the wrong place at the wrong time. Any stroker for Hootun - wrong place wrong time. Neil Adams he had a chance but under AN he is just the wrong kinda forward. A goal scorer in the right team he will undoubtedly be. But one up top team is not that team. I'd love him to come back to City and crack in 12 goals and secure our safety but at best that would be him as a bench option to play with Mbok or Jerome if needed towards the end of a match. And that appears not to inspire him to fitness and effort. Bah!
Like hoping for once the board will want to push things to the next level? You can't shoe string it all the time!! Same old city problem, prudence without ambition. 4 yeas in the PL and we've got **** all so far. You have to go out and get the players. Make them come. We have a very good young manager but your not going to back him what's the ****ing point!!! I'm so sick of it. It's always a hard luck story and what could of been. Just do it for **** sake!! Enough excuses, if we won't do it someone else will.
Hooper was our best goal threat under Hughton. Hard to say that he isn't (or at least wasn't) good enough to play in the Premier League.
Can i just ask.. does anyone know if Pinto is injured? If not, why isnt he starting? Because Russ is in shocking form at the moment! If he IS injured, what is it with us signing/being linked with injured, injury prone or unfit players? Gayle... injured, Pinto... injured or unfit, Whitbred was always injured, Surman always injured, Vadis got crocked early, Mulumbu gkt crocked early, Wolfswinkel got injured, Jarvis has had a lo g lay off, Grabban got injured...etc I know its a fact in football that players pick up injuries but it does seem, sometimes, like we either have crap luck or go got injured/prone players. Anyway, my main question is: Why isn't Pinto playing?
He's just not match fit and up to speed is he? He doesn't have a bad injury history, so we'll see him soon no doubt.
Don't get him not being match fit we are half way through a season What matches will he play in to get fit!
I think his former club were in their mid season break so he is probably not fully conditioned. Also you'd like to think that our defensive system would require him to undertake a little training prior to jumping into the first team and as we've played three times in a week two of which were away I presume the team have not spent a lot of time at Colney. You would hope AN and the coaches will be working hard with the players to get a vastly improved performance against the bin dippers on Saturday.
He's just come off a winter break, though he should still be fit, match fit and used to how AN would have him fit into the side will take some time and maybe 2-3 U21 games. If he impresses there then he be ready buh! Bah! Edit: like what Norfolkbhoy said!
On Hooper, I think his biggest issue is that he pretty much has to have a strike partner. We've not played 4-4-2 for several seasons, and as a Premier League formation, its only just started to make a return - Watford and Leicester being good examples. It's more common in the championship. So we never set up to make the most of him, and his need for a run of games to get fit isn't helpful. If he came back now, fit and raring to go, he still wouldn't fit the formation and would quickly get rusty on the bench. Jerome doesn't seem to need a run of games in the same way.
Slim pickin's news-wise today. But: Philip Harmeling @PhilipHarmeling Timm Klose is on his way to Norwich City for his medical check-up. Transfer completed for 12M€! #wob #ncfc The tweet author claims to be Accredited AIPS Journalist Fußball-Football-Soccer [email protected] @infosoccerAnciennement @Lefooteur Montréal/Bruxelles/Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg officials have also said that the transfer is complete except for the medical, which started yesterday and looks to be completed today. Left footed and very comfortable on the ball with very good "spatial awareness" it is reported. Naismith has been promised plenty of playing time if he joins as well, so looking better on the incoming front.
