Our 1st team....go Town...1st goal, the game will be ours! But lets not underestimate Preston. They might prove a tough test.
One of those difficult games, they have caught us and surprised us. Change of format, and we dont seem the same fluent.....bloody hell...Murph scores a cracker!!!!!
Terrific Murph...now thats the 3rd time in last 4 games that while I am typing, a goal is scored! Game on!
Another point, perhaps not good enough, but seems a fair result. Interesting scores elsewhere, Bristols beat Boro, and Brum who we play next.....beat Derby 3-0! Tough games ahead...ohh, and the Cup on Tuesday.
It's a point and we move on, I look at it as a point nearer borough & Derby than dropping down a couple of positions. It's now getting very tight up there which hopefully us have a manager like mick will keep the lads heads clear and focused. It's going to be a rollercoaster over the next few months. Coyb
Well they seem to think a point is about right. Disappointing as eee/ Brighton both won. Thought this game was a difficult fixture and so it proved. We have to take the lead in home games, we cannot afford to keep going 1-0 down. Makes winning very difficult from there, so vs Reading next home game that really needs to change. Sub wise, Pitman looks the dangerous option of the three. How lively is Varney looking? Quite disappointed Tommy Oar didn't play a single minute today - at some point I would like to see both himself and Fraser playing out wide together. Assume Hyam on for a shattered Douglas but as Niles can play CM could we not have gone slightly more attacking and really tried to win the fixture? Thoughts from all there please!
A point gained after going one down. Looks like 8 teams at the moment going for the top 6 ( MUCH LIKE LAST SEASON)
Points all add up ( try not to laugh ! ) but we really do need to take the lead in home games. That's 7/9 while being 1-0 down though which is some going. Looking at the table now, Brum game is massive. They've sure got themselves nicely in the mixture, and despite a transfer embargo Cardiff are plodding along nicely. Wolves/ Brentford/Forest/ etc - one of them MAY put a run together but they are running out of games and fast. 19 to play - should we lose Sat it's not doom and gloom from me, we're still a maximum 3 points off the play offs. Fancy us to get a draw. We'll see. Cannot see us doing any business this month. Perhaps later in the season we'll get a loanee or two though?
Westy, you doing QPR away? Tickets go on general sale tomorrow morning and will sell out quickly. Received mine though the post yesterday, lower tier, gonna be a good day out!
Saturdays game was difficult against tough opponents who give nothing away, every time Fraser and Sears were on the ball they were surrounded by 2 or 3 defenders immediately who were lined up in 2 rows of 4, boring as hell to watch but that's why they don't concede many. Gerken just doesn't seem to possess the ability or the judgement to pluck crosses out of the air and this time it led to conceding a goal, I know there were missed chances to clear the ball but if the keeper deals with the cross theres no danger to worry about, time for Bart anyone? We still have everything to play for and as has been said the game away at Brum is one we must not lose to remain around the play off positions, if only we would sign a couple of quality players this month to give our chances a boost, its not looking likely though.
I think Gerks has been more than decent in recent times and deserves his place, even if there has been the odd error. As someone else pointed out, compared to Leeds keeper Silvestri he looks like a world beater.
