for a measly £4m. Why on earth are we not in for him before now? He'd be perfect alongside Defoe and an absolute steal for someone who scored 18 premiership goals last season.
I'd be surprised if we weren't interested. But if it's between choosing Southampton or Sunderland, he'd always choose them at the minute.
Thought QPR weren't going to give him away cheaply ? So, premiership proven goalscorer =£4m. Jonjo Shelvey (no disrespect to him, his ex club, or his current clubs transfer business, but, ) dropped by a struggling team who then put a sell price of £12m on him ? It's a funny old game !
I think Shelvey was massively over priced and not much better then they had. Saivet is ****e anarl. Mags have been ripped off this Jan.
It was either sell him this month for 4m or lose him for nothing at the end of the season. Very good buy for the Saints although he is very injury prone.
Why couldn't we compete with Southampton ? Yes they have been doing better than us in recent years but money talks and for just £4m that would leave money for wages especially if we have put in a bid for Ayew for £12m. Shows we have money to spend.
His demands are his demands. So you've got a club that's doing ok and meeting your demands, and we've got a team that looks to be going down meeting his demands. Who do you choose baring in mind you've been relegated before and being a 'relegation player' is a tag which damages rep?
He has gone to a more ambitious club, Short seems to want us in the championship, where the whole lot will find their level !
Hmmm why do they do it.... "I can't see myself leaving in January, because I'm concentrating on playing for QPR," Austin said. "I think I owe it them and my loyalty is with them, to help them and get promoted. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...e-austin-will-stay-with-qpr-until-next-summer
I would've paid triple! But I doubt he'd come here in the current climate. It's not that far from London to Southampton really so he's close to the big smoke still and laying fir a better side than us
Shelvey is a very good player. He's a step up from what we've got. Don't know about Saivet, didn't want him personally. Can't believe you're taking the piss out of our signings. How did your new defender play yesterday?
Where have I taken the piss? Come on clever ****. Enlighten me? Mate No offence, Colback was a 'step up' apparently with every mag on the planet telling Sunderland that he was better than we claimed and he had improved further under you , blah blah blah. I've seen enough of Shelvey to form an opinion, decent player but I wouldn't pay that for him. I rate Catts(Though admittedly Shelvey is more of an attacking thread admittedly) He's not worth that money, no way, like Catts wouldn't be worth that. He's bad tempered and a dressing room disrupter, and his on pitch ability doesn't come close to canceling those out. Saivet is ****. In my opinion I'm not taking the piss. that's what you're doing the way you finished your post.. I was making an assessment based on my own opinion, don't like it, **** off back to your board and massage yourself with opinions which suit you I'm not interested in a debate with you so take that how you want
Shelvey massively overpriced. Saivet ****e. Mags massively ripped off? Taking the piss imo. You're entitled to do so, as I am. **** off back to my board? No, not at the moment, reckon I'll stick around here for a bit.
But i'm not taking the piss, It was a personal assessment as I've already clarified By all means stick around, not like I can stop you. But less of the finger pointing ah. I don't rate your precious ****ing signings. It wasn't a piss take or an wumming attempt to draw a mag in. It's what I think. Accept it.
