The only thing that matters I'd have thought is if he or any other player does join us is that they having joined give their all. For me I think Naismith would be that sort. He won't go somewhere to coast or pick up a last pay check. That it might be his last major paycheck means that quite rightly he is taking his time and unless certain unwilling to commit. A proportion of that will come down to money and i'll wager we can't offer enough to make him think "wow I canney tun this doon" add to that the upheaval to a very inaccessible part of the UK and I will hope he weighs it all up and comes and gives it his all. Bah!
Agreed (I hate when I do that!) though it's not THAT inaccessible, we have roads and everything! Sorry, just get pissed off with that sometimes, nowhere is hard to get to in this country.
Rangers play in blue Everton play in blue Scotland play in blue Isn't it obvious? He's waiting for MM to put an offer in?
It's all relative though, Liverpool up to Glasgow is an ok journey 3-4 hours, it's that from Norwich to Liverpool and 7 1/2 to Glasgow. If his friend and family base are in those two, by car they start to feel rather inaccessible. Norwich us dome bloomin far from everywhere! Bah!
OK, bless him. It's hardly Kyrgyzstan, but that's footballer mentality for you. I usually couldn't give a toss, but I thought this was a goer, and I quite liked the idea.
The Fail says we have signed Timm Klose from Wolfsburg, who can play either side in defense, but i believe the deal is not yet complete. Having a medical on monday i believe. We will also sign Haller later in the window in my opinion. he will have to accept that his wish of champions league football will have to wait as i cannot see any sign of those clubs wanting him.
As mentioned, so is the situation. England is very small. 2-3 years of your life at the end of your career in a part of England that is a bit further away from home but pays the bills and has the potential to make a club legend of you doesn't seem to bad to me.
Yes, that's him and I know he'd only just returned from injury. I also remember how he almost single-handedly destroyed 1p5wich a couple of months earlier!!! Edit - I wouldn't mind seeing him join us on loan, as we seem to be struggling to attract the players AN wants to join the fray.
He's an extremely highly paid footballer and Norwich has an airport if he wants to visit Jockland, couple of hours flight is it?
Just an hour. Sub two to London on the train. If you live near Colney you're about an hour from Stansted. Even that A11 has been dualled. We are practically an international hub these days!
Not an exciting signing. Another CB option non the less, and I think he would improve our squad. Not sure if he would knock Bennett or Bassong out of CB though.
Perhaps slightly less highly paid joining you lot ? and if you go down he will be paid even less. Weird reaction on this board , you made a bid for Naismith it's up to him if he choses to accept it and relocate . Perhaps he may go back up to Scotland or simply run his contract down and sign on a free again rather than gift Everton with £8m pure profit ?. The venom aimed at the guy just for keeping his options open a few weeks is incredible. Like a bunch of scorned old women some posters on here.
Watford looking at very pacey and skillful winger Nordin Amrabat from Malaga. Another class target from one of our promotion brothers.
I think people forget that footballers are real people, with families and lives away from the pitch. I personally think Norwich would be a nice place to end his career and settle but I don't know what other ties the man has. I am sure both Rusty and Whitts have had their say about the area. Hope the deal goes through.
A bit OTT post mate. A few posters have complained that he doesn't want to come to Norfolk and you make a fair point that there are loads of things to think about, but "venom"? Really? "A bunch of scorned old women"? Ha! You sound like you're on a wind up. You have to understand that it's frustrating for us clearly having the money but struggling to sign players a step up because we are newly promoted and relegation threatened. It's hardly all aimed at him. So it's also fair us being a bit pissed off that players don't immediately leap at joining us
Jake Humphrey @mrjakehumphrey Spoke to Owen Hargreaves about Timm Klose. He said he's an excellent, talented, left-footed, strong CB, good distribution. Fingers x'd #ncfc
Wow, guns ablazing! The fact is, we don't know why (or indeed, if) he's reluctant to come here. Yes, a couple overreacted without knowing the facts, personally, I hoped it would happen. I just get a little tired hearing how inaccessible we are - we just aren't.
