I'm not that keen on the Berahino idea either. Seems like a bit of a twit. He can definitely finish so if he was happy to come then great but there is no way we will be his preferred option

Thauvin shouldn't have been bought in the first place, he never wanted to be here and his lack of heart and desire shine through.
I don't see the point of persisting with him, so France is probably the best bet.

No problem with Gouff, you couldn't fault his efforts, but, perhaps he may have been better used at some point in his natural position instead as a fill-in midfielder.

It's odd that you're loaning Thauvin back to Marseille for me, he'd be far better off getting a stint in Germany, Holland or Italy, rather than back where he was last season, a season that was poor by his own standards. There'd be plenty of takers for him in those leagues I'd imagine. The only reason I can see this with any logic, is something involving Batshuayi but I'm sure he's just signed a new deal with Marseille.

Yeah, makes no sense. I sense our love affair with france is coming to an end too. The players from the dutch league have done way better. Only frenchman to really hit it off has been Cabaye. Where as Tiote, Gini, Janmaat have all been good, Anita solid... De Jong well... who not so hot but he doesn't look entirely useless either.

If we get Townsend... Thauvin and Gouf can leave. It's not like they're playing either. If we have Towsend Aarons and Sissoko as wingers thats fine by me.

Gouffran's proposed move to Lille is off. They cannot afford his wages. He's on £46,000 p/week. Just let that sink in. Ffs.

Funnily enough, I don't think it was Penfold this time. I'm fairly sure that Llambias was MD when Gouffran was signed. Doesn't matter though because both are just incompetent, arrogant ****s!

And all this after claiming they'd never make such mistakes again. Everton fans are mocking Kone for being on 40k and being a substitute. Goufran this season isn't even close to first team regular. 46k! Just shows how sick our club still is at core.

How come we can never offload anyone? I mean no one ever buys from us apart from our bestest players. Whenever other teams around us have someone to sell the championship take them or other clubs from around europe if they're foreigners. Yet for us...seems like nearly all unwanted players just run out their contracts. Clearly our club has ZERO relationships with other clubs or with people who arrange deals for 2nd tier footballers.

Gouffran has 1 year left on his contract. He doesn't need to move. He is quite happy to sit on his arse and pick up a wage doing nothing. Likewise that other waste of space, Gabriel Obertan.

Chronicle now saying Riviere and De Jong both could be loaned out as well.

Clearly Schteve is making the decisions now... and doesn't rate any of these guys. Sounds like they're certain Townsend will be coming in, as well as a striker?

As much as we need to free up some space, I'm not sure we should be ridding of so many players in one go. Seems like the squad is going to be smaller after the transfer window!

And since when is that a surprise? Then they try to tell us we've gotten stronger.

Gouf and Thauvin leaving, ok, they aren't playing and wont unless we're totally ****ed with injuries..which we already are and it might get worse.

Tiote leaving...big gamble, but 2 CM have already come in. But Riviere and De Jong leaving...without having secured a striker? Feels like madness. No guarentee Cissé will come back, if Mitro gets injured..or suspended (which is quite likely) are we gonna play Perez up top on his own? Geezus.

Sending Riviere out on loan I don't see as affecting us as he hasn't been available all season and hardly boosted the squad last year when he was available. However, sending De Jong out on loan would be a huge mistake IMO. He is the one experienced player that we have who both Mitro and Perez could learn from, and also offers very good options for linking up midfield with attack. I know we haven't seen much of him yet, but he is an intelligent player who I believe will come good. If he is released then we need TWO strikers to come in. We already need one with him here, and if he was sent out on loan then we'd need his replacement as well as the striker we already need.

Seems like the lesson our club will never learn is that you ought to keep a few experienced players around to guide the younger players. When we let go of Harps, Nolan and Barton/Alan Smith we really started losing any kind of competitive mentality.

Just look at Everton. They kept hold of Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar and Barry. Ok Barry plays but the others mostly make up numbers. Still they're then, called upon when needed and help the younger players develop.

Thauvin is in the squad for the game tomorrow. McClaren has confirmed it.

Sounds like no one wants him. Some guy from Marseille has tweeted "if thauvin returns it'll be the choice of the board not the football management."

If you're thauvin..ouchie. Gouf not going anyhwere either, not on those wages. Way to go, to give a 26 year old journeyman those wages and pay a transfer fee like we did. What fools we are.

Up to Thauvin to prove his worth now. He needs to knuckle down and perform.

Technically there's no real reason for Thauvin not to be named. May even be a ploy to force the hand. Certainly for a secretive club, fueling rumours isn't our style.
