I reckon we have our manager lined up already. Something happened today which triggered the sacking. The next manager will show us our intent of climbing and progressing in the championship.
I can't say I really mind who it is as long as he is the right person and some of the names already mentioned would fit the bill. My biggest wish is that those who will choose our next manager have already been in contact with him and won't wait 3 weeks before starting the process.
Whats the betting Lee Johnson is given the job. Nigel Pearson would be my choice as he has a proven track record and knows what it takes to build a successful side. I do feel unless signings have been lined up on the quiet that whoever takes over is going to earn their money keeping us up.
If SL is serious about the Prem in five years, we need one who has good experience at Championship and/or Prem. That should rule out the Tisdales, Johnson's, Edinburgh's. Clarke, Pearson? My choice would be go for Moyes and try to get Tisdale in to manage the Academy. PS. Moyes may seem unrealistic but Bris Rugby have Andy Robinson as Director of Rugby, ex England and Scotland Head Coach. SL not shy about getting him in.
We ALWAYS go low rent when we sack a manager mid season, so I bet we go for Mark Cooper or Wade Elliott until the end of the season!!! I think Gus Poyet could be a good option, certainly don't want Warnock or Hollowhead. I don't like Pearson one bit, but he would probably do a good job for us right now.
Dean Saunders is out of work, he's always worked wonders of getting teams out of the divisions. Just saying like Simon has said, be careful what you wish for in this game. Did I want Cotts to go no did I ****! What I wanted was for him to think to himself sod this it ain't working let's try this. But for some reason he got too stubborn and wanted to prove a point. Be nice if football followed disciplinary procedures like normal jobs and issue written warnings etc
Richard Hoskins (I think), who is the head of sport on radio Bristol, seems to think it will not be a big surprise if we have a new guy in place next weekend. It makes sense that due to the timing of this sacking, they have approached someone already.......but hey, this is City, so god only knows. Who will be spotted in the crowd on Saturday
Here is the list of managers appointed in the last 36 years - I count 4 who have done a good job - do you trust this Board to make the right decision???? No I don't trust the club per se, they've proved time and time again the people running it are not fit for purpose. Right now I don't care who is in the frame.
I'm hoping that come Tuesday night we will parading a new Manager before the West Brom game, if not then this sacking will make no sense as we wont be giving the new manager any time to bring new bodies in and that above all else is what we desperately need.
