Claudio Ranieri says transfer window is closed for City

Claudio Ranieri says the transfer window has already closed for Leicester City.

There are still three weeks to go of the January transfer window, which shuts at 11pm on Monday, February 1, but Ranieri said he will not be signing any more players after the arrival of Demerai Gray last week from Birmingham City.

He also said there would be no departures, but then confirmed that he has had a conversation with striker Andrej Kramaric and told him he can leave on loan to help his chances of being in the Croatia squad for this summer's European Championships.

Gokhan Inler has also been the subject of intense speculation that he is wanted on loan by Turkish clubs Beskitas and Galatasaray, as well as German club Schalke and Aston Villa.

What no Messi or Bale gutted!!!! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If Kramaric and Benalouane leave I think we have no option but to go into the market

It makes no sense that you wouldn't strengthen though. I can understand it may be disruptive with too many acquisitions but a few signings wouldn't hurt surely. And no offence but it is unlikely you will look as attractive a club to sign for in the reasonable future as you do now.

Being a mid table team is a lot less attractive than being second in the PL. Just saying.

I can't imagine we aren't looking, if the right deal comes up for a player we want, ive no doubt we'd get him.

Im sure what he really mean't is that hes happy with the squad, so don't expect anyone else.

Never say never......Players get desperate to leave situations late in the window and will do anything to get out of them , including softening demands .Plus , the watch for gems should never end .

I would take what Ranieri says with a pinch of salt.
He's a very intelligent man and has been around the block numerous times so to speak. I'm sure there are a couple of targets out there that we have our eye on. I don't think there is huge pressure to bring someone in, however if an opportunity presents itself........

Shelvey will play well for Newcastle and continue with the English team imo
Liverpool didn't use him and we misused him , he will be firing on all cylinders for Newcastle .
When Siggy came Shelvey was put into a semi holding midfielder role . Something he wasn't very happy with .Apparently he was assured by McClaren that he would play up field further before he would sign , if reports are correct . Only 23 too , watch him soar for the next 7 seasons imo...cheers

Alan Shearer has commented about 'attitude' problems ... and that he now needs to wake-up and take responsibility ... as he'll not get a bigger / better opportunity than the Toon - I'd agree with that - if he screws up there he'll be destined for the Championship after ...

The guy has been around forever, and still only 23. He must have been playing for Charlton (?) when he was 10.

Everton look to be signing Byram from Leeds - pity as I thought he could be our kind of player.

Would rather Amartey over Byram, he looks exactly the kind of player we need.

    What's Ranieri going to say?

"Yes, we are looking for a new RB because, quite frankly, Simpson and De Laet are awful... How we're 2nd with those 2 is beyond me!!"
