why do you have to be so pedantic about peoples threads ...?
I do not have rice krispies for breakfast, I have freshly squeezed juice from 2 citrus fruits, 6 item English breakfast, toast with either soft fruit conserve or marmalade made by Fortnum and Mason, just a little luxury after a hard working 65 year career, 35 in Astro Physics ....

The reason for the thread is no different than for others on here, supplies information to those that do not have the time to spend as much time as I do in front of my 3 computer screens.. it is simply info readily obtained AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON.. on one of about 6 sites that put forward the info on rumours / actions /opinions regarding the transfer window .... the modern day information highway ... the internet ...

We get that you are a stats man but have you ever come across the expression "too much information"...? or in the case of your threads, maybe WAY too much information.

The perm any one from 500m combinations makes my head hurt and I have a reasonable understanding of statistics..

(and yes by the way, I did get the irony).

do not confuse stats, forcasts with basic information, incomplete information is not worth a lot, neither is stats.
statistics are of a past nature, and contain information on different levels, that may be pertinent to what any single individual requires .( if you don't need it you don't read it simple)
forcasts, .. .. using todays known facts, that is present or from past events ( statistics if you like) for possible future outcomes (the forcast)

The weather forcast, fantastic as an example .. uses past present and future all jumbled up, you either like to see/hear it will rain tomorrow [full stop] or you like to see the charts showing highs, lows Jetstream influences, pressure, cyclonic fronts, secondary fronts, el nino / la nina influences etc

    wrong question
How many times have I turned an initial investment into more !
    ANSWER is many fold .....
AIM part of the stockmarket can be very lucrative .... even when you pull out "to early" you have already doubled-quadrupled+ your initial investment.. not counting pence a four figure sum is now a very high 5 figure sum, this year maybe a low 6 figure sum!

JGF just a recommendation then, if you are up together with click of a button etc. Would you mind just sending a PM like (Simon does on all cup predictions) to people forgetting to do quiz entries. I've got slight OCD and don't like seeing unread threads so I have to read them. <ok>

AIM is the wild west casino, and you need to be VERY careful. However, there is money to be made PANR being the latest vehicle. Already multibagged but results early next week could still be a very nice earner or not, depending on the flow test results - DYOR as they say...

I invest solely in Arctic waterfront property which is a great investment for the future. Think about it.

Astro physics sounds difficult, but being a bit geeky, I kind of like the sound of it :)
