    Back on track a min

There is a press conference at the King Power Stadium tomorrow to official unveil Claudio Ranieri as the Leicester manager

Its seems there about a 50/50 split on his appointment as manager but I like everyone else will be fully behind him and supporting him.

On NP he achieved a lot of success here and no one can argue with that. He is the most successful manager we have had in the 21st century by a very long way. Time for us to move on and hope we learnt from the mistakes from when Nigel left last time in not destroying the foundations he has built and continuing his work. If Ranieri can take us to the next level remains the be seen but its important he doesnt start rebuilding IMO and just adds to the team

When NP left last time there was question about having a hangover from what happened in Cardiff but this time we had our tails up so hopefully our fortune post NP are better this time

    You're totally confusing me here.

I didn't say that you hadn't been angry, i'd be very surprised if you hasn't snapped at someone from time to time because I would say that that's a natural response to pressure (I.e. Pearson's outbursts).

You're saying that Pearson shouldn't be given sympathy for a his job because it's not involved the pressures that you've dealt with. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but from what I gather you're not offering sympathy because you don't think it's a high pressure job? Is that not just another way of saying that "he should deal with the pressure because he doesn't know what real pressure is"?

You're making it out like there just isn't any pressure involved, which is clearly not the case, and that we're totally forgiving him of these outbursts because of it, which is clearly not the case.

... we all face pressure, including football managers ... but if there is a possibility of losing your livelihood by your actions whilst in that job then sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and show some restraint... most of us manage that because the welfare of our families has to take precedence (out of necessity) to our ego ... football is a bubble where those social constraints are not always followed. ... because football management is one of those rare jobs where you can be sacked several times yet still find another job doing the same thing... that in a nutshell is why I, personally, find little sympathy for managers acting like complete pricks towards those paying good money that maintains them in a rather privileged lifestyle... more than happy for you to feel differently...

But you agree that Premier League management is a high-pressure job and that the odd outburst by someone who in under that intense scrutiny might be expected?

... I'll accept that an outburst can happen of course ... and that football management is a high pressure job ... but it's the nature of the outburst at the end of the day ... three teams got relegated from the Prem this season - can't recall their managers being in the press this season for anything similar to Nigel Pearson's antics - the closest might have been John Carver - who actually suggested meeting a couple of the fans abusing him to discuss his views (and possibly did) rather than reacting in the same way that Nigel Pearson did ... and I'm not saying this in hindsight, if you trawl back you'll see that I (and more than a couple of others on here) expressed being somewhat uncomfortable (if not a little disappinted) by NP's reaction to that particular fan at that time ...

Odd outburst - yes, when he swore at that "fan" I was on his side as no one deserved to be treated like that whilst at work.

Acting like a prick during interviews - no. It is his job to be interviewed. If he doesn't like them too bad, that is what he is being paid to do and making enemies with the media - like with the ostrich debacle - degrades the status of the club.

Throttling an opposition player - no. In all seriousness I have no clue how he got away with that as Pardew got a long ban.

Defending his players after they disgraced the club and country - no. If he was willing to stand with them, he should get the same punishment and he did.

Ultimately who cares - he is gone. Lets just look forward to all of the Tinkerman headlines rather then the Throttling Ostriches ones.

    On Ranieri's press conference

He talked very well and seem quite knowledgeable on what happened here last season and he praised the players aswell as NP for delivering a miracle at the end of the season

He said there was 2 Leicester, One that started the season and one that ended the season and he wants to improve on last season. He said he really wants Esteban Cambiasso to sign and said he wants to sign 2 or 3 more players. He has also said the backroom staff will remain but I suspect once NP gets a job we will have to fight to keep hold of them

Susan Whelan thanked Nigel Pearson for his work here and said he left us in a much stronger position then he found us.

    Ranieri on the striker situation

I thought he'd be average at best.
LCFC & CR still have a long way to go though, still early days.

hmmm I think you'll find we've already made the 40 point mark ..:) ..and safety..which was the initial goal of the club irrespective of who the manager was .. that our new (and future) targets will be more than relegation avoidance I think demonstrates that Ranieri has already 'made it' ..the question is now. .. how far can this splendid manager take us?

It's not only in footballing terms that he has progressed us. He is a genuinely nice guy that people can warm to, even the most fervent supporter of other clubs. I suspect we have become a lot of fans favourite second team this season. He might appear a bit like your eccentric favourite uncle, but he's sharp as a pin in football terms and with a great sense of humour and humility. He never gets flustered and keeps things simple and in perspective. There are no rants and no jibes at anyone or anything. A fantastic ambassador for our club and we are very fortunate to have him. It just shows that nice guys can be successful.

Aside from Cambiasso - who I bet is kicking himself atm - this worked out alright innit!

Also what happened to Preki in the end?

Not sure what you class as not early days. 1 whole season? 2?
One thing Ranieri will never be is "average at best" regardless of him not being able to get the pantomime Greek team winning lol
