Bruce says no transfer news in or out, asked specifically about Huddlestone to Derby, despite the story quite obviously originating from some fake agent account on Twitter.

Diomande is out for three weeks.

Akpom is also out after picking up a knock against Preston.

Bruce is back in training this week, Dawson will resume training next week.

Dawson's being advertised as a pundit on Sky's Soccer Special tonight so was always going to be unavailable. 48 hour pre-game lock down and all that...

Will we go into the loan/free transfer market for a striker, Diomande out till after the transfer window close's, injury to Abel/Akpom and we're up the creek without the paddle, as they say.

press reports coming out off south wales suggest that Russell Slade the Cardiff manager could be gone in the near future.

That might turn into a blessing, it could force Bruce's hand into giving Greg Luer a fair crack of the whip. How else is he ever going to get a sustained chance in the first team?

Although we all know that Bruce would probably prefer to give more game time as a striker to the non scoring sensation that is Aluko!

I'd be tempted to go with a 4-3-2-1/4-3-3/4-5-1/4-2-3-1...

    McGregor
    Elmo Davies Maguire Robertson
    Livermore Huddlestone Hayden
    Snodgrass Clucas
    Hernandez

Snodgrass and Clucas playing between forward and midfield. Cutting in to allow overlaps from the two best attacking full back in the league as well as drifting out wide themselves. Hayden and Livermore both have great work rates which will allow Huddlestone to pick out passes.

If Snodgrass isn't up to starting then Aluko or Diame in for him.

Yes, I agree about Luer. I thought I read last week that Bruce had said he would start against Brighton. It never happened. No wonder the lad looked totally disinterested against Barnsley yesterday, so I understand from someone that was there. He must wonder what the hell he is doing at Hull City because it appears that non of the younger lads will ever get a proper chance.

Now we are 1/2 way through the season and we've seen just about everyone through necessity ...what would be your ideal starting 11, assuming everyone fit ??

    MacGregor

    Odebajo Harry Daws Robbo

    Elmo Livermore Hayden Clucas

    Snoddy

    Hernandez

For me, pace, good pairings and chance to nil the opposition and score some up front....

Humberside are reporting same starting line-up as the QPR game.

SB will also have an eye on Saturday's game - reckon that will be Snoddy's first league start.

Snodgrass was in the starting XI at Preston. Either that or I didn't attend, and it was a horrible nightmare. Which is a plausible alternative, now I think about it!

If Bruce had signed him for a sizeable fee like he did Robertson then I bet he would play more......Would like to see Hayden be rewarded for his efforts in the Cup with a start in the League, being a young lad he should be able to handle two games fairly close together. He looked dynamic the other day and it would help us keep him if there's still doubts on that score.

Not far off for me, you could swap and change Snoddy for Diame as and when he needed a rest Snodders

All footy fans have fetishes about their favourites, I bet yours was Waggy or somebody from that kind of era. Hayden is great and I also love Maguire as you can tell from my photo
