Because the number of years Villa Sunderland & Newcastle have spent in the top flight (and the money) while Bournemouth and Watford were in the 3rd and 4th divisions
So you must think its wrong that a team has climbed up from league 1 to be above you all season in the Premier league after all the years you have had spending money in the Premier league? Crap logic.
All the money Villa Sunderland Newcastle have received while in the Premiership while Bournemouth were playing in front of crowds of 8000
All the money Tottenham have received and spent when Leicester were going from Championship to league one and back again.
But that's just the logic of a ****ing mong. Spoken like an idiot who clings on to the past. You haven't even stopped to think about their low running costs and sudden injection of cash. Get out of the past, all the matters is the present situation. We don't deserve to even stay up at the moment let alone pick and choose who we should fairing better than. Twat.
You're right, it's much easier for a team to climb from league 1 to 2nd in the Prem than it is to get just above the relegation zone. SAFC83 completely destroyed your argument with one sentence and your comeback made no sense whatsoever. ****tard WUM, piss off.
They've just spunker another £7m re signing Lewis Grabban from Norwich. They are going for it and gonna try it with 4-4-2 by the looks of it.
Grabban isn't a bad player... I'm probably going to piss most of our board off here, but, I can't believe with an old, injury ravaged squad that is sitting 2nd bottom in the league, we are already being told that spending is over and we haven't even spent a million after spending **** all in the summer. If that is the last of the spending then there's one man to blame and that man for me, needs to start thinking about leaving our club pronto. Ellis Short.
I hear what your saying , but all young English players can't be tarred with the same brush as Wickham who has not lived up to the hype he got as a kid. To buy young English players nowadays costs a fortune. Burnley paid 9m for Andre Gray in August, so in comparison 10m for Afobe is about right. Bournemouth also paid 8m for Tyrone Mings.
I've still not read of this? When did this happen? I thought we'd recruit more just expected them to be inadequate. I jumped on the Ellis out when he screwed us over in the Summer window leaving our squad like a bog roll colander.
Sam said something in his presser along the lines of "we're getting N'Doye but unless there's some outgoings we're about done". Could be that if/when Graham goes there's wages available for one more. My guess is that N'Doye is a direct replacement. If there's no more incomings that SIGNIFICANTLY improve the 1st team then a) we'll be relegated and b) Ellis Short has ****ed us - and himself technically.
Right. Sam said a week ago there's a few takers for graham but we need him until after Spurs at least, Buckley's agent says he expect him to move this month. There should be at least 45k freed up which more than enough. Just hope the cash is there to at least bring a very good loan in. ****ing clutching I know. Given up hope. Hope all the championship games a streamed.
I'm not saying that those teams shouldn't be better than us, because at the moment they obviously are. But with the support base we have and the amount of money our owner has it looks to me that there is a distinct lack of investment in decent players who might help get us out of this yearly relegation struggle we always seem to find ourselves in. I know we can blame past managers and failed transfers etc. but it annoys me when so called lesser teams can go out and buy a couple of strikers early in the transfer window and we as usually tend to sit and wait till the end and pick up panic buys. Maybe with Sam it will be a little different, I hope so
On the wireless this morning Sam said he's looking to get more signings. If so, let's hope they are better than current first team players and not squad fillers. I'd love Alonso and Byram plus a midfielder to complement Cattermole and M'Vila.
Alonso has just signed a new contract at Fiorentina I think so that's a non starter unfortunately - think we missed a trick not getting the lad. Not sure right back is a necessity as we've got 3 on the books as it is in Jones, Yedlin & Matthews. But for me a new midfielder to partner them two would be perfect - will be rather jealous if the Mags get Shelvey as I reckon he'd be a good fit with M'Vila & Catts.
I agree. Also think Mowatt from Leeds or Zahavi at Maccabi Tel Aviv would fill that gap perfectly. We need an attacking midfielder but with good work rate, something that Johnson and Lens, haven't got. It's the key weak spot in the team for me. Out of the right backs, I have a feeling we might never see Matthews in a Sunderland shirt again, Yedlin isn't ours and is absolute ****e, Jones isn't up to the required standard. I'd get rid of all 3 in the summer, maybe keep Jones if we go down. I'd definitely get a LB in if we can, I don't think any defender has been responsible for more goals this season than PVA... If we are playing 3 centre backs then Byram would be ideal for the right side.
We are where we are because the club has been ran badly. The fact that teams can come up spend a little and fly past us only magnifies the state of us. I think we deserve it 100% Not the fans fault. We can point the finger.
