Lifted this off NUFC.com as I couldn't be arsed watching match of the day. Quite staggered... McClaren said after the game: "I thought it (the booing) was very harsh. "We're all angry and frustrated. The players in there, believe you me, they're disappointed. "We've performed today on a difficult pitch, in difficult circumstances, and I think we've dominated and controlled the game. We can't ask anymore. "Fifty thousand people have to get behind this team and support this team. We have to stick together. "I know it's difficult, it's difficult for all of us to show a little bit of patience, but there's work going on and Tuesday at Manchester United is the next challenge for us. "Players have to be big enough, bold enough and have courage. We have spoken about that, not having luck at one end. "Everyone is frustrated. We are angry, the same as the fans. The players are disappointed. "We came to Watford to win. We came with a strong team. We could do no more than we did, apart from put the ball in the net. "We came with a game plan. We played three at the back, controlled the three strikers, we did everything – but score. "I cannot fault the players, but that is four 1-0 defeats we have had, but everybody can see that the team is not far away from doing something. Yes Steve, going down..... About Thauvin: "He's a young kid who's just coming in and he's got to adapt to this kind of thing and we're certainly behind the scenes supporting him. "We wanted to win, I think we played to win and we went to win. I don't think we can do much more apart from stick the ball in the back of the net."
He uses the word " frustrating " a lot, when it used to be " magnificent " !. Get yerselves in for the chosen one man, Jose must be bored by now. It will be interesting though us both battling for top place in the championship next season.
Good God. Personally I think everyone associated with the club should be absolutely fuming that we have gone out of the cup with nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders AGAIN! I would absolutely love a cup run to get excited about.
McClaren should cut the crap and admit he's not up to the job. Why keep using the same players and substitutions when they clearly are not working. What's the betting young Mbabu is dropped for Tuesday, despite getting Man of The Match and also if our forwards can't score then at least give Toney a chance, he can't be any worse than those numpties at present.
Why does he use the same players? Because they are the only players he has! It's not his fault we have filled up the squad with absolute ****e and expensive ****e at that! He changed the formation and tactics and the performance was pretty good - not sure what more he can do! I hope the rest of the football board behind the scenes are working their bollox off getting rid of them and replacing with better players.
Let us all admit it.!! We secretly want the Toon to be relegated in the hope that Fatty Fcuks Off. I know I do. I will happily watch us in League 2 if it means that the Fatty Cancer is surgically removed from this club. I will continue to look on, as my club is involved in a slow motion mutilated car crash of a season, in the hope that he will depart our club.!
I will put this out there - no, I don't want us relegated! What I want is for the deadwood and **** to be removed and better quality players brought in! This could never be done in one window so will be happy to give the club and SM the rest of this season and next! Oh happy days!
I actually agree with mclaren on this because the players definitely tried on Saturday. It's not fair to single out Thauvin either hes just a bairn that's in a new country trying to adapt to the league also. I find booing etc to be unhelpful.
True. I get the feeling that the only way Ashley will leave is when he eventually succumbs to the pied piper.
The Thauvin Incident or Thauvingate was because he went down under a challenge but then pretended to be hurt in the last few minutes of the match, in front of the away support. Even Dummett got fcked off. It did nothing to help the team at all; the booing was venting frustration at someone being that dumb, it wasn't about singling him out for the overall loss. The performance was ok. Still look like a team without a manager. Some good stuff now and again from the coaching, some decent stuff from a few of the players, but there's no leadership from the touchline. If we had a manager (and kept Steve) it would make a whole heap more sense.
I think its **** treatment of Thauvin. He should never have been bought. That's not his fault. He what he is and he is always going to struggle in his first season. He was a luxury we could ill afford. It would have been alright if you were adding him to a settled side making progress. Dropping him in and just expecting regardless of money spent is a bit warped to me. He may continue to struggle. But Carr, McClaren and Charnley are responsible for this. They spent the money.
