I give up - I won't bother coming on here when we lose. I'll just watch you guys patting each other on the back when we win, as, clearly, you only expect 100% success, an FA Cup, Champions League, etc.

Don't you dare,we need the antidote to the we're **** sack everybody,I want it now types on here, most who seem to be typing during the games by the way!
Unfortunately I have to say didn't understand why it took til half time to see we didn't need five at the back against one,i thought it was glaringly obvious after five minutes, hey ho.

I doubt professional footballers would look at a formation and start thinking FFS if it's 5-3-2 / 3-5-2 as opposed to 4-4-2 etc. Also Palace are set up very well to play on the counter by Pards. Obviously no Barcelona but this season they are much better than us

Personally I blame it on the work rate and pressing of the Palace players, it was their fault as much as ours.

Can guarantee Long and Mane wouldn't have been happy with that line up.

But there lies the problem, he is playing in the creative midfielder position - yet creates not alot, he should be getting a goal every 4 games and he is in a position to do that yet his finishing is woeful. I would prefer a player losing the ball trying to create a pass that will lead to a chance on goal rather a player that finds himself in a good position but goes for the safety first option with a backpass

That's not really what I see. Okay, his finishing has been poor, though I think the fact he missed a couple of sitters last season causes people to think he's worse than he is. As for creating, he's played the strikers in with simple balls several times this season.

We need to beat Watford, so then I can start regretting being out of the cups. God I hope we are fired up for this one. But, I reckon they'll be a big back page story in the morning how Mane & Wanyama are on the verge of signing for blah blah blah. Just a guess, but it seems to coincide with all the big games, & this for me, is up there now. Massive game.

There have been several goals where he has had the pass before the assist too.... how do the stats account for that. his simple five yard touches are unappreciated.

Yes I can. Our most creative attacker got axed for a centre back. You're in a state of denial.

I agree with you, about Clasie getting better, but when will he be fit enough to complete a full 90 minutes?
I get very frustrated, especially when we are looking for an equaliser, that we will "waste" a substitution on a like for like midfielder, when we could be throwing on an extra front man (if we had one) for Martina or Cedric.

Unless you've spoken to Long and Mané and asked them, of course you can't. Don't be ridiculous.

Perhaps you could have said "I would be surprised if Long and Mané were happy with that formation" or "I suspect they might not...", then most people would likely agree.

The use of words is as important as the use of stats you know...

Several times this season can not cut it though, several times a game is the type of player we need in that position

Really? Do you just make things up as you go along? None of our midfielders consistently give the ball away. None of them are ****. You are acting like they are all constantly losing the ball apart from Davis. Ward-Prowse and Romeu give the ball away less than Davis according to the stats. Ward-Prowse is a good comparison head to head. As for the Arsenal game, Ward-Prowse kept the ball just as well as Davis. Slightly better in fact. Neither of them were flawless. I don't know why Davis fans feel the need to massively over rated his performances. Martina scored a screamer and Long had a stormer. We didn't win that game because of Steven Davis. It was a combination of a good team performance, luck, a freak goal and Shane Long being at his very best. Tadic also created more in 20 minutes against Arsenal than any of our players did in an entire game.

Davis is yet to register an assist this season and only got 2 last season. He has 2 goals, 2 assists in 51 starts and 4 sub appearances since the start of last season in the league. This is worrying for a player that we often use at AMC. I think Davis would be best used in a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 at CM after we off-load Wanyama. He would thrive there. Clasie next to him. It would get more out of Clasie too possibly. Davis is good at moving the ball about in the middle of the park and is good off the ball. He just struggles to find the killer ball. He struggles in the final third. Ward-Prowse has the exact same problem, but is a good set piece taker and worse off the ball.
