Rumours flying around that the lad is off to Boro.

I personally hope this is a loan deal, i know that he hasn't really showed alot, but we haven't really given him the chance to.

I would like to see the striking pecking order as:
Carroll
Shola
Ranger
Best
Xisco
Lover

This would mean (for me) sell Lover, think he's lost a bit of what he used to have, unfortunate because i liked him alot for Gers.
Loan Xisco to Boro, give him a chance at a lower level, get used to the game in the same way that this helped Jose, Colo even Carroll last year. Hopefully he can find some form and come back knocking on the gaffers door.
Keep the other 4 (unless we sign another striker, then i would ship Besty out. Like the lad, just dont feel like he's going to cut it).

I appriciate this may seem a little hypocritical, seeing as Besty and Xisco are the same age, but Best has been given a chance, shown in 1 game he can score, and he's been decent at best in the others i feel. I hope he can prove me wrong and really start scoring. But i cannot see it happening unfortunately.

I did notice against Spurs Xisco was on the bench, so maybe he hasn't been completely forgotten, and is starting to show some promise in training.

Well, i can hope.

I see it like this:

Carroll
Shola
Best
Lovenkrands
Ranger
Airey
My Grandma
Stephen Hawking
Heather Mills
Xisco

Xisco really is an enigma.

Had a good reputation in Spain as a young player and I was actually excited when he was bought. Keegan didn't really have time to run the rule over him but since then every manager has snubbed him. There has to be something wrong with the player for that to happen as every manager has given a clean slate when he's taken over.

If we'd have sold him last season then perhaps we'd have recouped a sum of cash (never gouig to recoup the lot) because his reputation was still fairly unscathed in Spain.

Now though he's overlooked by numerous teams in Spain and deemed to be damaged goods. His career; or potential to have a great career is basically over and we'll be luckly to garner anything from his sale..

The Depor fans were dancing in the street of Corunna when they sold him!

Hopefully, by getting games at Boro, people will start to notice him again and maybe we can sell him in the summer.
He has 2 years left on his contract at a reported £50k per week.

It always makes me wonder what he does wrong in training to not get picked, he was in the same Spanish youth teams as the guys who won the world cup this year and was widely tipped to be one of Spain's best talents, that talent doesn't just disappear overnight, so I'd love to know what goes on.
It was obvious in his first year he didn't want to be here after faking injury and the like (but I don't hold it against him - being in a foreign country and the manager comes out and openly admits he didn't want you, I'd probably do the same!). Maybe it's the fact he wanted out when we went down, but we could only ship him out on loan, so the rest of the team resent him for leaving?
All speculation, but I'd love to know what's went on!

it can only do the lad good.

hopefully he doesnt come back any worse (which i dont think is possible) and we can either flog him in the summer or give him a chance in pre season to see what hes got.

But if he does actually go on a loan move, and of course start banging in a few goals, then it's only good for us. Hope he packs up some rodent repellent <whistle>

“I’ve not heard any news on Xisco, I was surprised to hear the story.” “There has been no contact with Middlesbrough at all.”

“We have contacted a number of Spanish teams to see if they are interested.” “He’s a lovely lad and popular with players here. He’s lost his way a bit.”

“I’ve sat down and told him that if nothing comes out in the transfer window this time, he will stay and we will try to get him back on the scene again.”

“We’ll work with him. Sometimes it’s not about the attitude of the player, it’s about the attitude of the club as well, and we’ll work him.”

“If he’s prepared to change things a bit, I’m prepared to as well.”

That sounds to me like Pardew is willing to meet him halfway <ok>
