Lets give alittle credit to Colchester. A league below us, and on worse form currently. But they made us look daft. Back to us. Fraeye should resign now. He won't though. He's Belgian and sadly, my view of them is being poisoned by three arseholes I have had to suffer lately. I doubt Meire will be travelling by train much now. Like Fraeyed end, she should fall on her sword, as CEO and organiser of this circus. RD? Who knows what goes through what passes for his mind. No matter how much he is saving, his management of CAFC is a faliure, and the more he cuts costs, the more revenue dwindles away to match it. Why buy a football club if you don' t understand football and have no skills necessary. Just buy a VIP ticket with free bovril.
Enough. Katrien said Roland does'nt do faliure. Maybe before they hooked up, but as a team, the could give lessons on the subject. They should try and find something they are good at. Far away from us. Come on Varney, persuade them to buy Palace.

I've always considered myself lucky that I didn't go to the Dagenham game in League 1. Everything I read about it from those who were there made me sure that that was the worst performance in this club's history. Now, though, I feel like I was there. However bad we were that day, today was without question worse.

Right from the outset the signs were ominous. Johnson and Sarr never had the Colchester front two under control, which is quite something given that they were Marvin Sordell, formerly of this parish, and Chris Porter, who is essentially a Simon Makienok tribute act. It was difficult to pinpoint any actual howlers from either Johnson or Sarr, but that makes it even worse that they were constantly being beaten and having to chase back, as it shows that neither of them has an intelligent footballing brain. It didn't take long for George Moncur, Colchester's one decent player, to find space in the box to fire past the blameless Pope. And it was Sarr who was in the wrong position when he tried to intercept a pass in midfield, letting in Sordell to slide it under Pope to make it 2-0.

At right back Charles-Cook struggled, and without wishing to be overly cruel on a youngster I cannot see any future for him at this level. It should be said in mitigation that he was not helped by having Manuel from Fawlty Towers playing in front of him; Ceballos produced a display of such ineptitude, misplacing even the simplest passes, that he became a contender for the crown of Most Incompetent Person To Come From Barcelona. Unsurprisingly, he didn't emerge for the second half.

Cousins going off injured didn't help matters, but our lack of presence in midfield was staggering. Poyet must have thought that his days of playing in teams as bad as this were over when he left SE7 in 2014, but boy was he wrong. Not that he should get off scot free, as he did nothing to be proud of either. Colchester were consistently first to the ball, stronger in the tackle and more intelligent with their use of it. This is a side which had lost 8 of its last 9 games outrunning, outbattling and outthinking us. Congratulations Karel.

Up front we were as toothless as always. One cross-shot rebounded off the foot of the post in the first half, and keeper and defender conspired to block consecutive efforts from inside the box in the second, but a team playing against a defence as leaky as Colchester's really should have created much more. Makienok won almost nothing in the air again, Moussa was ineffective and Reza's sole positive contribution was to head in our consolation, fine header though it was. Special mention should go to Vaz Te for the most half-arsed display imaginable from a substitute. Imagine letting Watt go for him...

We ended the game being captained by Morgan Fox. Even allowing for the players missing today, it is telling that a player as average and inexperienced as him should be skipper of this club. There was no leadership whatsoever on the field, and nor do we ever get any from Fraeye. That we even scored today was an absolute travesty of justice, as surprising as seeing Sarr play two sublime crossfield balls in succession (believe me, he did). 2-1 does not reflect how comfortable Colchester were.

I commented after the Burnley game that defeats in the North West like that were a longstanding part of our history. Exiting the FA Cup at the first opportunity is equally traditional, even when we have had a good team. What happened today, however, belongs in a whole different category of awfulness, for which three people are responsible. If Karel Fraeye, Katrien Meire and Roland Duchatelet do not leave this club soon, we can expect more days like this.

We have two fights on our hands. The one on the pitch will almost certainly end in relegation. The one off it is the one we need to win.

    Echo what Mike said.

Although I read that RCC was our best player today and was quite impressive, I presume the rest of the team was the yardstick for those comments.

It's emerged now that KF and KM sneaked out a side gate, and escaped by the kit man's minibus, which he had driven there for that purpose. You couldn't make it up. What next, having their own tunnel in and out of The Valley?

It appears KF and Meire left via the kitmans minibus.

I feel like we're having the piss taken out of us somewhere.

Don't worry China, The Bitch and the 'Totally Incompetent One' are making sure that we will not be in the Championship very much longer <ok>

I see for an hour yesterday that Morgan Fox was the Captain??? Seems apt considering we are resembling The Titanic at present ...... with his turning circle I can't see that Morgan Fox could have avoided hitting the iceberg either!

Beautiful city but very crowded even in November.

Managed to see Venezia in about 2005, was bizarre travelling to a football match by boat!

An appalling performance against a team who are 23rd in League One, and who's previous 10 games has seen 9 defeats and 1 draw. And yet Colchester literally outclassed, particularly in midfield where they ran through us at will. Their passing and organisation was SO MUCH better than ours, it was frightening. I will rate our players at the end but I wish everyone on here could have witnessed the cameo of our current malaise when Cousins was injured and went off. We had nobody warmed up to come on (despite a 4 min break for treatment) and then a striker was brought on to replace a holding midfielder? Our players stood around openly asking each other what was going on! After another 3 mins, Euell came to the touchline barking orders, with Fraeye just standing behind him, mute.

Magnificent travelling support from our 1800 yesterday, who left Meire and Fraeye in no doubt where they stood. At the end about 100 of us went down to the front by the barriers, Poyet tried to lead a few over but saw the reaction we were giving him and I saw him turn to Charles Cook and say "leave it"

The players left the field to a loud and hostile chant of

"You're Not Fit To Wear The Shirt"

    An utter disgrace.

    Player ratings v Colchester

Pope - MOM - 8 - at least 3 top, top class saves

Charles-Cook - 4 - poor. Caught out of position and looks very lightweight to me. Too soon!!

Fox - 3 - Captain FFS. Having the armband made him worse if anything. Sh1t footballer.

Johnson - 1 - he must have had too many curries this summer playing in India. He certainly gave me the sh1ts with his defending. Sordell ran rings round him all afternoon. Horrendous

Sarr -1 - goodbye Nobby. Surely his last run out for a long long time?

Poyet - 4 - poor - looked rustier than the Tin Man left out in the rain

Ceballos - 1 - off at half time but oh dear, who scouted this skinny little runt? Carol by any chance?

Cousins - 4 - off injured, but inept up to then

Moussa - 1 - was he even out there? Invisible. Got abuse 2nd half when he came over for a corner. Words to the effect of "please try a bit harder, Franck"

Reza - 3 - lightweight and piss poor.

Makienok - 2 - vintage performance from the peroxide carthorse. Did nothing all game. Booked for dissent yet again. Get rid FFS.

Vaz Te - 0 - one lazy, fat, arrogant, useless bad attitude shoulder shrugging twat. Literally a "non trier". Another shocking signing.

Fray - minus 10. He should be nowhere near this level of football, and OUR football club. Things could get tasty if this dyed haired ponce stays much longer.

Thanks for that I actually thought we'd win yesterday given how poor cool u were in the league below we didn't even give them a game .
Seems only Pope was worthy of applause then don't think Charles cook can get stick he should still be learning his trade in u 21's but the rest ...urgh.
Feel for cousins as he's suffering playing with this bunch of losers the rest out there .
    Very sad.
I regularly hear fans say vaz Te did OK week in week out he's a bloody forward and yet to score for a start !
    Bring on Huddersfield and Hull

No leaders on the pitch at all yesterday.
Minus Jackson, Henderson and Diarra...where are the leaders in this squad of 50 plus players?

When Morgan Fox is your captain, you know you are bang in trouble.

Agree the players were poor yesterday and generally but they must be demoralised with the set up as well. You've learnt your trade with good qualified professionals telling you how play and now you are being coached by a Muppet who has not clue. Yes some of them should not be here, but that is a decision for a competent coach who knows a pigs ear when he sees one. Until that time lets focus on the matter in hand, the one that the majority of fans have clearly identified as the issue, the coach and the CEO.
This is not so much "back the team not the regime" as focus on the real problem in hand before you move on to the next. Attacking the players, who probably don't want Fraeye there any more than we do, will give him and her an excuse. You can imagine it, Katrien " Fraeye is working with a squad demoralised by constant attacks from 2% of our support - its not his fault".

I agree its not Lions led by donkeys but Camels led by an Ass might come to mind. Get rid of the Ass
