Although I agree the target should be 1st and foremost to get a cl spot, winning things breeds confidence, we aren't there yet in terms of quality to even think about doing anything in the cl, we are half way to getting in a final and we should take it seriously being this close, Rodgers imo saw the lc as unimportant hence him playing kids all the time, who knows if we'd have won a cup before our title challenge we possibly would've had the "winning mentality" to actually win the title that year.

For me it's win all you can when you can, Rodgers made such an issue with regards to cl football attracting the top players when he eventually did get us there he bought players we could've got regardless of being in the competition anyway so it was a waste of time and money. He couldn't attract cl quality players with a place in the comp, klopp has a reputation, a lc win under Klopp can attract cl quality players more than Rodgers ever could even after coming a close 2nd in the league.

If klopp helps us win the lc this year I'll be delighted, the players will turn from doubters to believers and it gives us something to be proud of going into next season.

Finals, love being in them regardless of what the trophy is personally, back in 2001 the lc pushed us on and gave us the confidence to go and win the FA Cup and el and then the super cup after, we should be going all out to win this for that reason alone if ya ask me.

Klopp's 1st (half) season and we win a cup, yes please.

Near full strength Villa team held 1-1 away to Wycombe.
LFC kids did alright <whistle>

Can't see many upsets today. Possibly Eastleigh at home to Bolton, possibly Norwich at home to City.

Biggest one looks tomorrow, Oxford v Swansea.

Only a couple of lower league teams at home to Prem clubs, and first 2 already ended in draws.

I was out so I missed the coverage but I assume Danny Murphy was saying it would be a "catastrophe" for Villa to lose. In fact, since they have a fit team I assume he even went so far as to call it "armageddon".

Everton made 8 changes as well so I'm expecting Tobes to be on here soon slagging off Martinez for playing a weaker team and should have played some of the same players that played v City in the Cup..

You've got 5 more injuries than us love

http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php

McGeady and Naismith are both internationals and barely play and neither even made the bench....

Cos you have to offload them I know......

Big loss on mcgeady but hey....

Does Hibbert and browning really count..... really?

Lukaku Coleman mccarthy are first team... cleverly is not.

You've 3 first team out.

Lfc have sahko sturridge skertl coutinho and henderson out from first team and lovern ibe toure origi and Ings out from bench... and gomez and Rossiter are bonus extras.

We are a wee bit more crocked by our manager

3 first team players.. pah...
