With Milner and Benteke having the captains armband this season shows how far we have dropped. Two players who should be no where near that privlage. Benteke shown no leadership at all in that game.

And the arguments about fielding a weaker side are silly, we are currently competing in the League, Europa League and League cup. We just played on Tuesday and had three people pull up with problems then, it's sensible to give youth players a run out against a 16th place League two side and they did well.

Sinclair I feel is just a finisher, the game passed him by for most of it. Kent, Tex, Illori and Smith all were good and I think we will see more of them. Chiv looked terrified when he came on the pitch. Ohio liked decent too.

Only negative is a replay as a loss or win would've spared us another game but if we go with youth again with experience in the bench then it'll be a good experience.

Not the case I was commenting on the match thread as well people could hardly have piled it on for the under 21 side losing if that happened could they get over yourself...

Agree apart from your last paragraph. Rather have extra game than lose, if we play kids again then doesn't matter if it's an extra fixture as first team players won't play so still get a rest.

We needed a back up keeper last summer. Is there a reason why we signed Bolton's 3rd choice keeper?

Making too much of this, imo.
Giving the captaincy to Benteke was just a one-off political move. He was the senior player on the pitch and it would look a bit odd giving it to a kid who's never even started a senior game before.
It's not going to be a future policy.

    I'd have waded right in

I note Benteke couldn't even find the net against a **** League 2 side btw.

  16. Nope. But then he hardly had the ball and the one chance he did get the keeper made a superb save (should have scored though)

Aye it was a great save that tbf.

I didn't understand why he hadn't set that side out to put the ball in the box for him, as both their CB's were gash.

Some of you so-called LFC supporters need to check yourself

PL teams regularly put out their first teams (or close to it) and lose at games like yesterday

We have the greatest number of injuries of any team, and the greatest number of games.
3 players made their debut, most had never trained together, and one joined up with the team on the day.
We had less than 900 fans because there was no transport and the BBC scheduled it to be like that. Meanwhile their attendance was double their usual average.
The ref was a total **** and gave them everything.
    We came from behind twice.
And we're still in the cup.

The media are #bitter as **** they didn't get their cupset, especially on a day when there were no other games to report. But that doesn't mean the fans shouldn't recognise it was a massive achievement.

Many other clubs wouldn't have the balls to put on that kind of performance and would have their post-match excuses for losing already written by the time they turned up. Klopp turned up and still made jokes, celebrated our goals and got a result. No offence to Tisdale but even when his team scored he stood their motionless like someone ****ting themselves because he knows all the BBC cameras are on him.

  19. Smith was putting crosses in at the start of the game but stopped doing it. Maybe Exeter sharpened up their right side to stop it?

No one else crossed. Whether they can't or won't I don't know.
