I don't think you'll be a mile off. Dave might start at RB, and Clucas might play LB as Robertson's fitness is shakier than his.
No better way to keep you second stringers ("stiffs") fit by engineering a replay in the FAC. Gets the oppos some needed cash too.
Agree with this team except if Talyor is put at full back and they have a quick winger we are in trouble, He played decent against Leicester in midfield but lacks pace to be a full back no wonder Newcastle got rid. Would like to see Greg Luer just to see if he is near to first team football but like you I would think he will start with Akpom and Diomande, lets find out how these forwards go without Hernandez up front. Diomande's performance will be very important does he hold the ball up well, can he get goals in this league? These questions need to be answered whilst the transfer window is open
FA Cup v Brighton with Steve Bruce & Harry Maguire I am sure even the youngest of fans will remember our FA Cup run in 2014. Although we were eventually beaten by Arsenal, we certainly ran them close. I think most fans would agree, we left Wembley with our heads held high after a sterling performance by Hull City. And so nearly 2 years later the FA Cup completion returns to the KC stadium with Brighton providing the opposition. The view amongst fans about the FA Cup may be mixed, some see it as a distraction to the all important league campaign, while other remember the romance and fun of a good cup run. One person who remembers a good cup run is Hull’s Harry Maguire who was of course playing for Sheffield United in the roller coaster of a semi-final that not many fans who were there will ever forget. Hull of course eventually winning 5 – 3 after a very nervous first half. Harry remembers the game well saying “Yes I want on a good run when I was at Sheffield United then obviously we played Hull in the semi-final which ended disappointing for me but good for hull, it was a great game and a great spectacle and a great occasion. Hopefully we can replicate that this year and go on another good cup run” Harry went on to say “When the draw was made we were just hoping for a home tie and one we thought we was cable of getting through and the first we know it’s to be a tough game against Brighton” “It going to be tight cagey game in the first 20 minutes and hopefully our quality can come through and get the first goal and kick on from there but we know it’s going to be tough game” Steve Bruce came into the conference room to express his pleasure in securing the services of Allan McGregor “We are delighted that he has committed to the club and we obviously hope that it’s one of a few who are out of contract.” “He’s come back to the form to the goalkeeper we know he is capable off and I am delighted he has obviously committed himself to the club for another couple of years, which is good for us and hopefully good for him too. As for the match with Brighton ” Let’s treat it they way it should be treated, it’s an idea opportunity for us, we are at home which is important, let’s hope we can keep the home form going. Yes let hope so another trip to Wembley would be nice for all concerned
The midfield has caused many problems, signing people who have older and have long term injury problems or develop them quickly, have drug problems, have niggles a lot (Maloney/Myler) and who are overrated and not suited to our play (Huddlestone). The midfield has arguably been the biggest problem over Bruce's time with the lack of chances created. Clucas looks more an exception that proves the rule.
What a load of drivel, I can't remember ever being as excited about a signing as I was when we signed Huddlestone and we've generally signed good midfielders. Bruce has had problems figuring out what to do with them after he's signed them, but that's a problem with him rather than the players.
