Not606 Newcastle turning into facebook !

    When I was looking around for my Toon fix after 606 , I admit I was tempted by several posts from Not606 members suggesting this should be a new home for all things Newcastle.

    However, the forum seems to be morphing into BBC News or worse Facebook. Any old story that hits the news gets a posting.

    In recent weeks I've seen postings about Horse Racing Ladies Day, Amy Winehouse's death , German football , SMS jokes and some childrens computer game Fifa11 !

    What next, anyone for tennis or cooking tips????

    I'm all for lads putting random stuff up that interests others but there is a place for it...........the excellent Shearer's ebar.

    I'm very interested in our forum getting wider exposure amongst Toon fans and the NewsNow Newcastle link is excellent. However, if the main forum persists with these non-Newcastle stories/links it will simply sink into what all the other competing forums are.........mediocre.

    Let's stick to news/gossip/frustration/good news/breaking stories about the Toon.

    Come on the lads...

    if you didn't know that then how can you compare this to facebook if you don't know what facebook is about?

    you go on about talking about relevant Newcastle subjects/threads/articles but haven't commented once on the article(3 pages long) about the friendly tonight or the Simpson sent home article or the FC Utrecht thread (i could suggest more but won't) so for me you're just moaning and talking bollocks <ok>

    So, relevant football talk or no talk then? They're the only options offered to us mere peasants by Dictator Holystone?

    If all we could talk about was relevant football topics there would either be 1 thread a day or 50 threads a day about the exact same thing, followed by another 50 the next day on the same topic.

    Once the season kicks in the forum will restore normal order, until then... its either random things or nothing (which results in a dead forum).

    It's natural in pre season, as beardface says. There's very little to discuss so it gets quite off topic so we have something to pass the time.

    Sorry, but I'm not having this. It's pre-season. Stuff happens so scarcely that you'd have about one article a day. And most subjects would have been covered already.

    I don't want to trawl through 6 pages of one person's frustration. If someone writes one then fine, if you have an opinion on the subject post on it. As long as the board isn't full of the same ****e then I'm okay with it

    It's always like this pre-season though (well not sure much pre-season but when there's no football on) you probably didn't notice the severity of how bored we all are on the original BBC606 website because i'd imagine alot of OT threads probably got batted away by the mods.
