Then there are all the other posters that agreed with the point made. ****ing hell, you're on fire today aren't you?
Ironic one poster, who uses the FA cup final to hold Bruce on a pedestal, has stated he would be happy to play the reserves and go out at the first hurdle. We all already knew Irememberwaggy is a thick **** who's words hold little value, but he's really outdone himself there. Silly ****. Back to the point of the team, some who haven't beeen starting recently will be getting in but I wouldn't like to see a complete overhaul. Winning breeds confidence and cup runs are great.
Once a WUM always a WUM! Good to see that my words are of so little value that you can remember them! As for the FA cup, getting to the FA Cup final was a great achievement & a great occasion. If we could get there again AND win promotion then I'd be delighted. But for me the greater priority by far is to win promotion, so if we play a weakened team on Saturday & lose I will not lose any sleep over it.
Diomande has to start (finally) and the defence is unlikely to change as we don't have back up options, so it's just the midfield and who plays up front with Dio that's hard to predict. Based on what we did against Leicester and Man City, how about something like: Jakupovic Odubajo Maguire Davies Robertson Livermore Huddlestone Taylor Akpom Diomande Maloney
I'd go Watson Dave Maguire Davies Robertson Huddlestone Taylor Aluko Snodgrass Maloney Diomande Well I wouldn't like Taylor in but we know he will be. I'd rather Jake or Mohamed play next to Fat Tom.
We should win this game anyway if Brighton play their second string. They're already showing they don't have strength in depth.
I didn't say I wouldn't be happy if they won, just that I won't be sad if they lose. The cup run in 2014 was great but be realistic, a second tier side with promotion aspirations and key players prone to injury means any extra games come as a burden to the first team. We had momentum of a good first half of the season to carry our cup run on, not to mention 9 games less to play in. Once we are promoted, which is where the money is coming from, then we can focus on it. Until then it's also rans for me and any progress by the reserve side is a bonus.
There's a full PL and FL fixture list next Tues/Weds which means the FA Cup will be even more devalued with clubs resting key players. If they had planned a full week before the next fixtures then it may have given some managers a bit more scope to chose senior players. The fact is, most games this week-end will be played in half full stadiums (barring the odd tie) with reserve players whilst the broadcasters ignore such things and instead have a ****fest over the 'Magic of the Cup'. The football calendar needs an overhaul.
I'm actually going to this match but the reality is a cup run will distract us from the league, just like the FA Cup run in 2014 saw the wheels start to come off for Bruce and the Europa League similarly even though we went out early
Yes Get a mix of the promising U21s together with the out of contract 1st teamers we want to keep. Get them cup-tied it makes them less attractive to potential suitors
Bruce is fairly obligated to play some of the kids in this one seeing as he bottles using them in the league for the most part and I can't wait to see them in action, hopefully our stiffs will outstiff Brightons
Luer for starters. Why did Hayden vanish in a puff of smoke, he looked decent when I saw him? No wonder we get insipid performances at times like the Preston/Rochdale/Leeds ones when senior players aren't under pressure from the bench or keep getting selected regardless
I hope Luer is finally going to be allowed out on loan, he's not going to get anywhere just playing for the U21's.
