This article just popped up on newsnow, is very well written and is well worth a read.

    Ipswich fans take note:

McNally had been brave. He could have picked up a Warnock or a Mick McCarthy, men who spend their careers falling off the managerial merry-go-round, waiting for yet another chief executive to give them a hand up, brush them off and plonk them back on the wooden horse. But there would have been no sense of a new beginning for Norwich, no attempt at a legacy. No bond.

I was one of those who was a bit critical of AN following the Watford debacle (just in case no-one realised :emoticon-0105-wink:), but recent performances and results would suggest the man really does know what he's doing. I for one am big enough to hold my hands up and admit that I was perhaps rather premature in suggesting he might have been found out and out of his depth. For this Mr Neil, I apolgise.

Thanks for finding that article KIO and I love the excerpt you pointed out to our friends from across the border.
I liked these two sentences 'Neil was Braveheart heading south for new adventures.' <ok>
Also, his comment to Bassong -
If you **** around I’ll break your balls.’ <ok>
Obviously he won't take players messing about and I thought he handled 'Grabbangate' well.
Yes, we were overrun at Watford as we gave their front two too much space, but the way they tamed the Saints' front line was impressive.

Edit - I think this comment in an article on the EDP website really sums it up - “We are moving in the right direction,” he said. “If you had offered me nine points before we went to Manchester United of course I would have taken that. This league is tough, it is hard and we are enjoying it at the moment so hopefully we can perform well in our next game. Belief comes with wins, that is the bottom line. People might watch you, you don’t play well and lose and everybody will write you off but if you can get a bit of momentum it is massive. We have found a nice balance at the moment, we are looking threatening going forward and that is now two clean sheets.”

OK, so it's not a year until Jan 9th, but hey ho.
Cracking review of our year under the Scot's tenure by Dan Brigham,
who any NCFC twitterers will most likely know very well.
Enjoy it, I think it's an excellent precis of the last 12 months <ok>

<grr> I always check before posting, but the KIO's original must have slipped down the page or something.
At least I know the 'merge threads' tab works...now, what other mischief can I get up to :emoticon-0116-evilg :bandit:

I just hope the board backs AN with real ambition this window but going on previous experience I think we all know the answer to that ;)

Agreed KIO, we can't afford to go in with ridiculously low bids for any players who AN wants to sign - we don't want another Brady saga!!!!

Agreed Bath, but we also need to speculate to accumulate - especially with the riches on offer for those teams who are 17th or better come May!!!
I'd like to think we could spend £20M to £30M if it means we improve our chances of staying up!!! <ok>
