So apparently Jan Kirchhoff is on his way... I know nowt about him but a quick Google search brings up this...

    http://www.transfermarkt.com/jan-kirchhoff/verletzungen/spieler/49734

The lad's injury record is worse than Rodwell's ffs. Why is it that our club repeatedly signs known crocks year-in, year-out? Brown, Rodwell, Matthews, Kaboul, and now this lad... Every single one of them has a KNOWN REPUTATION for being made of ****ing glass but we welcome them with open arms to pick up their wages and sit in our physio room.

One of my biggest gripes with the club tbh, I just don't understand why we keep doing this. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES ELLIS.

And yet, players with no discernable injury record like Fer and Lombaerts (who have both played regularly for their teams all this season btw) apparently "fail" their medicals. How is it possible when crock after crock after crock strolls through our doors to pick up their millions?

    Mugs running the club.

One thing in our favour is that at Bayern, toothache warrants 3 weeks on the sidelines why they analyse the little buggar..<ok>

    Don't forget all.

Sunderland used to be the glass center of the world.

    A few knees shouldn't be a problem

Maybe he and Rodwell can dovetail their "injuries" and take turns on the physio's bench

Well lets hope he can stay fit and turns out to be a quality signing, we need another centre half in anyway, lets hope the 2nd CB signing has a better record

According to Sky sports he is costing £1 million.

Kone is costing £5 million if it happens.

One thing \i will say on this, when Kirchoff came through he was massively rated, far above Badstuber and co, he was supposed to be going right to the top.

He's composed and he's an absolute ****ing unit, massive if, big gamble, but one that could reap rich rewards.

He and Kone would form a beasting unit physically.

****ing annoying to see Iturbe gong BOURNEMOUTH, THE NATURAL ABILITY ON THAT LAD IS FRIGHTENING. iF HE CLICKS, HE IS UNPLAYABLE. wE NEVER LOOK AT PLAYERS WITH ACTUAL ABILITY.

But if he is that talented and didnt have a bad injury record he wouldn't be signing for us! Do you think Mvila would be here if he didn't have a dodgy past? We have to get the best we can attract and sometimes there'll be a question mark. Agree about Fer/Lomb though

Jan Kirchhoff is just his own signature away from being a member of Sunderland AFC. Kicker reports that Bayern Munich and Sunderland have come to an agreement to sell with both a fee and contract terms negotiated between the teams.

The former German youth international has been the subject of interest from the English club for several weeks and is in all likelihood on his way out at Bayern Munich. However, Kirchhoff has yet to commit to the deal and is also the subject of interest from several other Bundesliga clubs. As Kirchhoff is currently in Qatar on winter break with the Bayern Munich first team it's hard to say when, or if, this deal will culminate. Bayern Munich don't arrive back in Germany until the end of next week .

Given that Kirchhoff has been off for the past two weeks on break, it's not an altogether surprising situation considering returning to peak fitness would likely be ideal if his goal is to slot directly into the Sunderland first team. That in many ways goes double given that they th

John Mensah only ever played half a season. But when he did, we got points. Right now I'd give a lot for that. And given what's at stake, £1m is peanuts.

I'm sure if we do sign him he'll have the full backing of everyone.

I think the point of the OP was more about our transfer policy rather than the backing of the player.

Perfect post mate, IMensah was nearly always injured but when he played, as you say,we got points. And those points kept us safe.

John Mensah was a huge asset to our club and had all the right connections to have made us a magnet for some great young African talent, unfortunately he was treat disgracefully by the BFGB. I can remember him being humiliated by Mrs Doubtfire in his last home game, I have never been more ashamed watching Sunderland.
