On the exit front, Lafferty to Leeds is on the BBC. Also SW obviously still keen on Hooper, but I assume that would be on loan rather than permanent. Looks like we will be offloading a few players, which is good for the finances.
Equally good for encouraging new signings in to the club, too. The less competition there is for certain positions, the more chance of decent game time they'd have. I can only imagine how disillusioned Kyle Lafferty must be, twitter rants aside.
Bristol City are reportedly after a permanent deal for Elliott Bennett too. He's out of contract this summer, and a long way from the first team anyway, so I suspect he'll be allowed to move for next to nothing.
Norwich after Saido Berahino!? I'd be very surprised if this one had any legs? http://readnorwich.com/2016/01/04/norwich-interested-west-brom-outcast/
Alex Neil doesn't strike me as a manager who would sign a player with anything other than full commitment to the team. I don't care how good he is, I don't want him anywhere near my team!
Not sure he'd fit on the pitch or off it, so would seem like an odd move. WBA need to sell him to fund any January deals, so I'm happy seeing him sat on their bench.
I think he's a cracking player and if we can perceivably rescue him from WBA, we could get 2 good years out of him before selling him on for a nice fat profit. He's obviously a bellend, but both Bassong and Hoolahan have been allowed back in after dubious behavior. If he can demonstrate the right attitude to AN then I'd have him in a heart beat. He's only a youngster and hopefully will have learnt from regretable spuds episode. That said I can't see us getting him either through being priced out or the player himself thinking himself worthy of a club higher up the PL food chain. Bah!
Another name to throw into the mix, Will Vaulks of Falkirk: 22 year old central midfielder, who has also been used at RB this season, and is apparently capable of playing at CB. An ever-present for Falkirk this season, with 5 goals and 7 assists in 25 games. Might have a chance if Gary Holt knows him of old, but I suspect he'd be another McGrandles.
And that lad he bought from Hamilton who's barely had a kick apart from Pre-Season. Hope there's no truth to this.
Interesting how quickly there is a denial about players we aren't interested in. Puts a bit of weight behind some of the other rumours.
